Albergue Gabino

Easy to find on Camino route. Friendly owner who explained Albergue well. Good facilities. Able to make cup of coffee tea and cook and do laundry. Able to make breakfast for a donation with good variety of cereals bread spreads etc.

Everything was good.

The location was very good for my Camino stage. It had everything I needed. The host did the laundry and given the cold, wet weather, it was very nice to get my laundry washed and dried for 10€. The kitchen encouraged pilgrims to cook and dine together. The host was very kind towards us older women by not giving us top bunks. The host’s sister has a small market down the street and she carries essentials for pilgrims, food, and some unique items. It was very cold out, near freezing, and a heater kept the dorms nice and warm. Thick blankets were provided and were really nice as we were all cold when we arrived. The host ensured our shoes on the rack stayed dry by thoughtfully covering them with a tarp.

One toilet was broken, the fix was supposed to be the next day, but I was gone by then. Water ran continuously in one sink. A group of male pilgrims were embracing their stench by not bathing nor washing their clothes therefore the dorms smelled like a men’s locker room after a football game, feet, armpits, and Tiger Balm. The smell was very potent.

Clean, comfortable and friendly staff and loved owners sister too!!!

Fui porque el hostal era vegetariano con opciones veganas. Dado que soy vegana me ofrecieron correr hacia un costado el queso de la ensalada. Quienes somos veganos sabemos que eso no es una opción ética. Me asombra que siendo vegetariano sugieran algo así Otro de los señores que atendía tenía muy mal actitud preguntandome que apuro tenía cuando consulté si solo había una tina para lavar ropa.
