Great stay

Great location. Booking and communication excellent. Parking and booking in instructions excellent.

The microwave was dirty, there was no bin liner in the kitchen bin and no cleaning products like washing up liquid which would have ben useful so we could clean the microwave and wash up. A spare toilet roll would also be nice.

Would highly!! recommend, excellent place, a real escape

Exceptional break away, a very interesting concept that looks to of turned out a real treat for visitors and locals a like, there are places to eat and drink all done very professional with a twist, the train carriage shops where very interesting with the different pathway leading to different parts of the site to explore, the new bar was modern and had a great atmosphere, a cool working complex with businesses and a traditional twist, there is also a Brewers fair around the corner that made you feel very welcome with great food and hospitality, Barry island beach front looks incredible especially at sun set when the weather permits, would highly recommend a very smart and cultured community environment

The location would have been perfect however we were never made aware we would be staying on a building site. We could not sit outside with noise and dust from work site, vibration and noise at 9am as soon as they started work was unbearable could not stay in.

Not relaxing next to building site. Could not open kitchen blind as workmen looking directly in from elevated office area.

It was very clean and had everything you could want for a short stay , very impressive

We never saw one member of staff and the WI FI was very poor ,also the tv required you to join or be on certain networks , last and most important no one told us that there was a building site next door so we couldn’t open the windows , they started quite early but fortunately my sister and I are early rises but the noise was very loud , and it spoiled an otherwise lovely place .

Potential to be great but a lot let it down

Great location and cute little lodge

Couldn’t contact anyone after 6pm we arrived at 6.30, also no one got back to us the following day. Infact I’ve still not had a reply. The accommodation is not well sign posted at all, we arrived to an un-made bed, raisin on the floor stuff in the bathroom bin, and a dirty mark on the wall by the bed and light switch, the key code after 11 also didn’t work and staff working in one of the bars had to let us through, which they said happens all the time. We were also in the first lodge “fairy queen” meaning the bar was outside and a children’s play area the opposite meaning it was loud! And you couldn’t enjoy the outside terrace! It’s a shame as location and structure are fab over all! But I wouldn’t recommend

Firstly can i say I gave this feedback to the company direct a week ago but havd had no response: No Nespresso coffee machine available despite being listed as a facility. No washing up liquid, teatowel or dishcloth supplied in 'fully equipped kitchen ' Was one of the heatwave periods but no fan available. Taps were loosely fitted and tended to spin when operated. No bedside table/,shelf All minor complaints but wasn't cheap as Stereophonics in town (though I was just visiting family).

Can't reccommend enough!

Everything. The bed was comfy. The whole cabin was very clean and modern, excellent ventillation, lovely amount of storage. Good amount of plugs, everythung you need to cook or eat in the kitchen. Soft carpet in the bedroom, shower was good, little kitchen welcome packs. Excellent usage of space, loves our time here. Will absolutely return..

The spider webs outside, though we know it is difficult to control those but they were everywhere

Great to have a living area and excellent location

Property was not overly clean, especially in the bathroom area. Also quite noisy when the pub closed opposite.

Birthday Barry Island Trip

Location was really good and the accommodation was excellent value. Close to the rail station to take a trip into Cardiff as well. Highly recommend these lodges for a weekend.

Couple of things - cobwebs which could have been dealt with and no fish slice for the frying pan. No chance to recycle your rubbish which is a shame.

Great quirky stay

Perfect location for visiting family in Barry Island. Quirky compact units with everything I needed for my 3 day stay. Very quiet overnight on a midweek break.

Toilet/sink arrangement is a bit strange, impossible to get close to the sink. If I was to be really picky, I would prefer the TV to be in the bedroom but that's a very personal thing.

Location quiet and very clean

Could have had a few more saucepans and cutlery. Possibly a slightly thicker mattress. Although it was comfortable it was a little awkward when getting in and out of the bed because of the wooden frame.

The lay out was great, spacious and the bed comfy

The bin was dirty, the microwave/oven wasn’t clean and in winter I think the heaters need to be put on before guests check in as we slept fully clothed our first night as it was so cold.

Lovely and qwerky

These are lovely qwerky lodges. I love the use of space and the history associated with them. I loved the location, and it is gated at night. Easy access to coffee shops and food places, literally on your doorstep.

I have not rated the staff score very high, but only because I didn't see anyone. It was a self checkin and out. Not a bad thing, very convenient. I booked a car parking space but didn't receive the code to get into the car park, but thus was resolved quickly with a quick phone call. Would have been nice to have a tv in the bedroom.
