The perfect place to de-stress

This place is a hidden gem in a pristine village where you can observe traditional Balinese lifestyle and culture. Everywhere you look is like a postcard, it's the perfect place to decompress and rejuvenate. They have an excellent restaurant as well, you can do anything from indulging yourself with banana pancakes and mango lassis to conducting your own juice cleanse. Everyone I met was super friendly and helpful. Also, I recommend visiting the nearby Nuanu Creative Park.

There are a lot of nature noises at night: frogs, geckos, birds, etc. so best to bring a good pair of earplugs.

Fantastic place, always kind, good workout - great value

Love the natures in and around Nunu. The extra offerings like the Saturday night fire. The beds are comfy, dorm doesn’t feel like a dorm, but more cosy and somehow connected. I LOVE the kettlebells and outdoor fitness station one of the main reasons I keep coming back. Breakfast was great! Thanks for the addition 🙏🏻

It’s a bit farther from canggu, perfect as a more white base to quiet to work, exercise, BE, …. 🪴 A bit sad that the ice bath wasn’t there on my stay this time - 2026/2 Suggest earplugs and eye mask if you are a light sleeper - nature sounds around are of course heard.

Nunu Bali Riverside is a jungle paradise, nurturing cravings for peace, nature and stunning views

Nunu Bali Resort at the riverside is one of a kind. The island of Bali already itself has a special charm with its kind local people, but the Nunu Riverside offered me everything I needed for a ten-day healing break. I felt welcome and comfortable from the very first moment, the resort's surroundings are breathtaking and the restaurant offers nutritious, fresh and delicious food. The riverside section with the villas just opened in autumn 2025, but you are well catered for with the facilities in the villas and the retreats on offer, such as yoga or massages, as well as the daily programme options, where you can explore the surrounding area with its wonderful culture and mentality or get in touch with the local community. Staying at the Nunu Riverside, you can experience the jungle vibes with all your senses gazing through your wide glass windows. Sometimes you can spot monkeys or other jungle creatures darting past between the palm trees or just a few metres in front of you. And heading a few steps downhill you can jump into the clean hotel pool anytime you wish. As I had been injured in an accident, I received comprehensive support from the staff and had my meals served directly to my villa. Thanks to my caring and patient driver Alex, who had been supporting me every day since my accident, I felt as he would be my personal driver for the rest of my stay. Special thanks to resort manager Rai for this extraordinary holiday experience overall and the wonderful hospitality, as well as for my lovely birthday surprise. I have travelled all over the world, but this place is one of my absolute favourites and has taken a place in my heart.

To get around the area, you need a car, rental car or scooter. The latter are available for hire everywhere, but I would only recommend them if you are an experienced driver. The Balinese drive differently and have scooter riding in their blood from childhood.

Beautiful quiet place with a rural feel.

Very nice green rural feel with fruit trees, rooster sounds, a nice pool, beautiful entrance way. The restaurant was very nice, but a bit pricey. The traditional cabin was very nice with a nice semi-outdoor bathroom. Great place for a relaxing holiday and base for excursions to nearby sights.

You need transport to get anywhere, as there are no places of interest to a tourist nearby. Close enough to many beautiful places though with transport.

Tranquil and friendly sanctuary

Everything at Nunu is amazing. The gardens, daily yoga, cultural workshops, delicious restaurant, multiple pools, wonderful staff and cozy rooms.

It’s a little far from Canggu but easy to rent a scooter to go explore.

Peaceful spot with dreamy water and frog sounds

From the moment I arrived, the place had such a beautiful and welcoming vibe. The surroundings are incredibly peaceful, with the calming sound of flowing water and the gentle chorus of frogs adding to the atmosphere. I originally booked just one night, but I ended up staying for two… and would have gladly stayed longer if I didn’t have other plans. Yoga was also excellent. A truly relaxing and memorable stay

PEACEFUL PLACE PERFECT FOR DISCONNECT

Love Nunu

I don't really know if I should say how much I loved this place because I really want to keep this little corner secret. Everything was perfect: the location, the kindness of the staff, the room, the atmosphere, the food, the activities offered, the bed so comfortable, ... It's a beautiful setting isolated from the madness of Canggu, off-center and located in the middle of nature, this place is just magical. I wanted to thank the whole team again for their kindness and their availability. I will definitely come back!!! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!!

Best hostel!!

I've traveled a lot, but this is honestly the best hostel I've ever stayed at. It's perfect if you want to get away from Canggu and recover from partying. Surrounded by rice fields, and the staff was so kind. The room was totally fine, with a nice outdoor bathroom! The female dorm even had curtains for privacy. They also offer a fun free activity every day that you can join. The food was tasty and affordable. I also met some great people just a super chill vibe, No pressure to do anything, but you're free to do whatever you like :)

I’ve been traveling for over 4 months and this has been without a doubt the best hostel so far. Even tho half was under some construction the remaining facilities were more than enough to entertain me for the days I stayed there.

A beautiful place with great people – sadly disrupted by outside issues

The hostel is beautifully designed, with a peaceful atmosphere and lush surroundings. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive and helpful throughout my stay. I also appreciated the range of daily group activities – especially yoga, which was professionally led (though not included in the room price). Everything felt well-organized and welcoming, making it easy to connect with other guests.

The second and more serious issue was noise from a neighbouring property. A man living next door had installed a wooden windmill with a metal drum that was continuously hit by the rotating blades. The sound of this metal drum being struck, day and night, was incredibly irritating and made it difficult to relax or sleep. While not all guests were disturbed, at least three others I spoke to also found it very unpleasant. The neighbour was unapproachable and refused any discussion. The hostel manager did her best, informing local authorities and even offering financial compensation – which I strongly advised against. Sadly, due to the stress and noise, I decided to leave two days earlier than planned. It’s a beautiful place with wonderful staff – and with some luck regarding external conditions, it could offer a truly restful experience.

A beautiful place with great people – sadly disrupted by outside issues

The hostel itself is truly lovely – the staff were always kind, helpful and welcoming, and the entire property is tastefully designed and well maintained. I especially appreciated the daily free group activities, which were great for meeting other guests.

Unfortunately, two issues outside the team’s control affected my experience. First, the chlorine level in the pool seemed unusually high during my stay, which caused strong eye irritation and even turned my hair green. To their credit, the management responded immediately by having the pool water checked and adjusted. The second issue was much more disruptive: a neighbouring property runs a loud wind mill that made constant noise, day and night. The man operating it was openly hostile when approached and refused to reduce the disturbance, even though it clearly affected other guests. The hostel manager did everything possible – including notifying the local authorities – and even offered to compensate the neighbour, which I advised against to avoid setting a precedent. While I deeply appreciated the staff's efforts, I ended up leaving two days early due to stress and lack of sleep. It’s a shame, because the place and the people truly deserve the best – but these external factors unfortunately made my stay less restful than I had hoped.

Relaxing and rejuvenating place to land in Bali!

Lush and relaxing. You feel like you’re truly in nature. The surrounding village was also amazing. The entire Nunu team was just so lovely and kind. When we got stuck during a group walk during a downpour, someone from the team rode to save us on his scooter and brought us all umbrellas for the walk back. A true hero!

Options for food nearby were limited, but great fresh offerings from the kitchen.

Loved the daily activities! The resort is beautiful, and the staff are kind and helpful.

I loved the entire resort, it provided the space and vibe to reset, focus on whatever I needed (solitude and and a chance to reset), and also the option to join activities and connect with other guests. The food was fantastic - so if you don't have a scooter, there are options! I loved the location, just not having a scooter made it a little difficult. I do think the sacrifice of convenient location is worth it. The remote-ness makes you feel like you are truly enjoying the landscape and culture of Bali. A nice break from the hectic Canggu city center. I had the best time! So grateful to have had an affordable rest/resort experience.

Hidden Canggu Oasis

I only came to Bali for a week to rechage, rest up and enjoy yoga sessions daily. This place exceeded my expectation. Super quiet, surrounded by well maintain tropical garden. I didn't only appreciate location and facilities, but staff was amazing too. Did I mention the food? I think I've tried almost everything on the menu from me 10 out of 10! Thank you Nunu Bali Eco Friendly Resort for having me. I will come back when I need to 'recharge my batteries' again 😄 Namaste 🙏

A beautiful relaxing escape from busy Canggu

A beautiful retreat hostel away from the hustle and bustle of Canggu, the hostel offered a free activity every day plus yoga every morning which was fairly priced. There was a lovely restaurant on site and great communal areas to socialise. We stayed in the treehouse and it was so beautiful.

The pool was a luke warm temperature and during the hot days we wished it was cooler. In the treehouse there was no fridge and bathroom was down the stairs which was difficult during the night time.

Relaxing

Amazing retreat. The staff are so friendly and attentive. Loved the free classes learning about real balinese culture and we enjoyed a free family meal during our stay! The food at the warung is delicious! The property is beautiful with rice fields and a waterfall nearby! you can hear the sounds of the jungle to send you to sleep and wake up which was relaxing and something we definitely needed after our flight from the UK. Nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of canggu!

It is quite far from the centre of canggu due to the heavy traffic but you can hire a scooter that NUNU rent out or taxi into the centre.

If you want to escape to a calm space Nunu is the place

Nunu is located approx 30 min. from the beach sorrounded by nature. It's very calm which I loved about this place. Very nice staff. Yoga everyday for 100k. Loved the chickens and the kitten Queeny living at Nunu. The ice bath is an amazing way to cool down. I stayed in the dorm which had good facilities incl. aircon.

The food is a bit expensive at the hostel but you can easily get food delivered with Grab. It can be a bit difficult to get a ride to/from Nunu in the evening, because it's a bit far out - patience is needed. No problem during the day.

Best stay ever

NuNu is like a little family you wake up to every morning. The staff is incredible and lovely, locals from the area that are always up to help you and engage with you. The owner is funny, sweet, caring and has put thought into every detail, you can feel it and see it at every corner of Nunu. I left this place and after 1 night, I returned immediately as I had missed the calm pace and the peace that is in Nunu. You can easily spend your days here swimming, doing yoga, reading, writing and sleeping very well in the comfortable beds. I will definitely come back again and already looking forward to it.
