Hill Top Retreat by Sea Dance Resort

Lovely location but very secluded. Definately living with nature so if you don't like bugs and visitors such as the beautiful geckos then this place not for you. The experience was like staying in a big tree house high up in the forest. The main living area upstairs was a good size with suitable kitchen facilities and fantastic view across the side of the island, only negative point was ants in the kitchen so put me off cooking often. Great sunbathing area but only have roll out cushions as opposed to sunbeds. Bedrooms well equipped and comfy, we only used the very downstairs bedroom as this had en suite. The middle bedroom you would have to use the bathroom on the side of the property and this was the bathroom to use from the main living area. Not great as have to walk back outside and down the side steps to access. Main bedroom Great with lovely views, only 2 negatives are the bathroom is now going to be overlooked by the neighbours property so shutters or blinds will need fitting and the shower soon overflows as the drainage is slow and possibly loose underneath as you can hear it running out. Pool is a short walk away (1min) which had sunbeds and was pretty quiet most of the time. Fantastic view out over the bay, sun for most of the day and availableto use. As we arrived early evening we spent our first night in Seadance resort, lovely room and pool and complimentary breakfast. Poy and Stefan drove us to the villa the next morning stopping in Lamai to get shopping on route. Nice touch as they could show us around the villa upon arrival. Poy was great throughout the stay for any advice and tips and responded to messages promptly, thank you. Overall we had a lovely holiday and enjoyed the stay but if we return to Samui would use a villa a bit closer to the towns with its own pool.

Property not suitable for those with mobility issues as lots of steps. Too secluded, we had no option but to hire a car to get out for shopping etc. Located up a big hill only suitable for 1 passenger mopeds or 4x4 vehicles. Both neighbours either side were having work done and the noise from this was everyday for the entire holiday. Luckily we did day trips out and used the pool area which was a bit quieter so didn't spoil the holiday. The communication needs to be clearer in relation to the resort. The resort is a 45 min drive away so not that easy to use Seadance resort facilities as offered. Also be clear when booking if the transfer from the airport to the villa is included as the staff at Seadance tried to initially charge us but I explained i thought this was complimentary. I think the airport to Seadance resort is included but not onwards to the villa and from villa to airport so clarify this. Lastly, the place could do with a good overhaul as looking quite tired but we did enjoy our stay and made the most of that fantastic view as that is what you are paying for.

De hill waar je alleen met 4×4 drive naar boven komt of lopen. Dat laatste is alleen te doen als je fit en vitaal bent.

Das Haus ist traumhaft. Es steht auf einem Hügel und bietet eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf das Meer. Es ist komplett umgeben von Bäumen, Pflanzen und Felsen. Man hat das Gefühl, mitten in der Natur zu wohnen. Die Zimmer sind grosszügig, die Betten bequem und es gibt alles, was man braucht, sogar eine Waschmaschine: Das Personal, insbesondere Poy, war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten beim Check-In auch noch ein Auto sehr preiswert vom Anbieter gemietet. Das Haus eignet sich für abgeschiedene, paradiesische Zeiten, um weit weg vom Trubel und dafür in der Natur zu sein. Der Pool gehört zwar nicht exklusiv zum Haus, aber er liegt sozusagen direkt gegenüber. Und er ist umgeben von schönster Natur und bietet einen wunderbaren Ausblick aufs Meer. Es waren wöhrend unseres Aufenthalts nie andere Leute anzutreffen.

Aufgrund des Inserats war uns nicht bewusst, dass die einzelnen Räume des Hauses nicht miteinander verbunden sind. D.h. vom Wohn- bzw. Essbereich muss man aussen am Haus Treppen runter, um zum Bad und zur Toilette zu gelangen. Auch die Schlafzimmer sind nur über Auf- bzw. Abgänge draussen zu erreichen. Das ist nicht schlimm, wenn man treppensteigen kann, aber es nimmt Komfort weg, weil die Wege „lang“ sind. Die Strasse zum Haus hoch ist sehr steil, aber machbar mit einem Auto. Zu Fuss ist man aber grundsätzlich besser nicht unterwegs. Der Wohnbereich (Wohnzimmer/Küche mit Essbereich) hat oben kein komplett isoliertes Dach, sodass in den Balken oben Geckos leben. Sie sind zwar harmlos, aber hin und wieder fällt Kot runter auf den Wohnzimmer- und Esstisch.
