I'd book this again. Very good location: central so we could walk everywhere, good big supermarket very close, also a Halyk Bank ATM and money changer. On the 12 bus route. We stored our bags for 1000 tenge in locked locker at Star hostel right next door until check-in. Surprisingly quiet even though it's right next to a main road. Host was great and helpful.
On the 4th floor with no lift, so think about that (but that gives it the benefit of being quiet). . I agree with a previous comment that the bedroom would improve with wider curtains to block early morning light.

Nurlan was an absolute legend of a host! He was very helpful. He even helped us to get a taxi/Yandex to the airport in the early morning and he was very attentive and responsive!
Nothing! Everything was great. Just a suggestion: maybe make the room a bit darker for guests if they want to sleep a bit longer!

Everything! Nurlan is a great host- very kind and helpful, made my stay a real pleasure. The apartment itself was exactly as I expected- clean, comfortable and located at the best possible area of the city- close to the center and yet quiet and peaceful. Plus, there's everything you need just a few steps away- cafe, restaurants, supermarket, change bureau... in short- if you're planning to visit Almaty, don't think twice- you should definitely book this apartment.
