Villa Costantino

Perfect local Sicilian Villa for a real relaxed Italian experience. Pictures don’t do it justice . Stayed here with 2 families, 8 of us. Perfect home from home with everything you need. Sabrina was a perfect host, and despite ( embarrassingly) us not speaking a word of Italian, Google translate was ideal ! We were met with an amazing friendly welcome, lovely food and drinks , perfect start to the holiday. She even drove us around town to show us where to everything was. She has some amazing local wines, can highly recommend ! Couple of local restaurants and great place on the squares for breakfast coffee and icecream. The local beach is 5 mins walk, and has calm bay for swimming, and we spent a couple of nights there in the evening chilling and late night swimming for teenagers :) ! One day we organised a boat trip with PANAMA ADVENTURE from the port, easy to walk to from Villa. We had a car for a few days, and did a great day trip to Erice and Segesta Greek temple. And a few days at the town next door Balestrate, with gorgeous beach and kids loved the waves, and restaurants. We should have gone earlier in the week as the kids really enjoyed it and would have done that a few more times ( also a train goes to next town along !) All in all, perfect week in sicily, and we can’t wait to come back again.

Nothing, Villa had everything needed, including towels for the beach , beach umbrellas to bring with you . A few more plastic cups would be ideal for by the pool for clumsy teenagers !

Sehr schöne Villa im italienischen Stil in Trappeto. Cafés und Stadtkern sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Es ist wirklich eine Ville auf zwei Etagen. Pool liegt ruhig und man kann den Tag in Ruhe verbringen. Danke an Sabrina. Kommunikation schnell und einfach.

Overall Rating: 4/10 We recently stayed at Villa Costantino in Trappeto, Italy, for 11 days. While the owner, Sabrina, was friendly, responsive, and generally tried to help resolve several issues during our stay, unfortunately the property did not meet our expectations, especially considering the price we paid. The villa itself is quite dated, with old furniture and facilities that appear to need refurbishment. One of the main reasons we booked the property was the advertised air conditioning. However, on arrival, air conditioning worked in only two bedrooms. It was later fixed to operate in a third bedroom, but there was still no air conditioning in the living room and kitchen. With outside temperatures reaching around 35°C, these common areas became very uncomfortable. Based on the Booking.com description, we assumed air conditioning would be available throughout the villa. Another significant problem was the water supply. For reasons that were never clearly explained, the water was disconnected for two nights during our stay. As a result, we were unable to shower or use water normally during that period, which was extremely inconvenient.

The swimming pool was also disappointing. From the first day, we noticed that the water did not appear to be circulating or being properly filtered. We mentioned this to Sabrina, who explained that the filtration system mainly operated during the night, so we initially assumed everything was functioning normally. However, it later became apparent that the pool filter was actually blocked and had not been working properly. This issue was only discovered and fixed during the final two days of our stay. Unfortunately, the water remained cloudy and did not become clear again until the last day of our holiday. As a result, we were unable to enjoy the pool during the last two days of our stay, which was particularly frustrating as the swimming pool was one of the main reasons we chose this property. The kitchen also had maintenance issues. The oven was not functioning, and Sabrina kindly offered us access to a basement apartment with a newer kitchen so that we could cook. While we appreciated the gesture, that apartment had no air conditioning either, only a fan. What was confusing is that some of the photos on Booking.com appear to include this apartment, giving the impression that it is part of the villa, whereas we were informed that it was actually separate accommodation. The location was another disappointment and, in our view, somewhat misleading. The photos on Booking.com give the impression that the villa is beachfront, but this is not really the case. There are other villas situated between the property and the sea, and there is no direct access to the beach from the villa. The coastline directly below the property is a cliff edge, and many of the paths leading toward the sea are private and inaccessible. To reach a public beach, we had to walk around the private accesses and down the hill for approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
