Dit was het hoogtepunt van onze vakantie, zowel qua appartement als qua stadje. Gezellig, knus en aanzienlijk minder druk dan Taormina of Cefalù. De baai om in te zwemmen, op zo'n 10 minuten lopen van het appartement, maakte dit de perfecte laatste plek om van te genieten. Het gaf me een goed beeld van hoe het zou zijn om hier met mijn vriendin te wonen. De inrichting was leuk, de keuken klein maar prima voor ontbijt, en het balkon was ideaal voor een drankje terwijl je de drukke straat kon meekrijgen. Onze host dacht ook heel goed met ons mee, wat we erg hebben gewaardeerd. Al met al dé plek om nog eens terug te gaan.

De koelkast had een ijsblok dat qua formaat kon concurreren met Antarctica, dus voordat we er iets in konden zetten moesten we hem eerst even ontdooien. Een kleine expeditie op zich, maar verder geen enkele smet op een verder perfect verblijf.

Honestly didn’t expect to love this place as much as I did. The room has so much character, definitely not the typical Ikea-style setup you see in every other rental these days. You can just tell someone put thought into it. When we got there there was a bottle of local bottle of wine waiting for us which was such a nice surprise, and really good too. Little things like that just make the whole stay feel more special. The owners were super helpful the entire time and gave us a bunch of good tips on where to eat and what to check out around Castellammare del Golfo, some really good seafood spots and a few viewpoints that weren’t full of tourists. You could tell they actually know the area and like sharing it, not just reciting a list. It was a short trip but honestly one of the best stays we’ve had in a while, and we probably wouldn’t have found half those places without their recommendations. Definitely going back if we’re ever in the area again.
