Nice location, a rural offshoot from Rte 6, away from hustle and bustle, in the woods, minimal paving -- all of which I like and appreciate. At the same time, Wellfleet center and all the beaches and sites around Wellfleet were easy and quick to get to. Eastham and beyond were also reasonably close and easy. Anything beyond Truro is farther and takes longer. I liked having a whole cabin to myself, particularly since my visit was just after Labor Day and there were no neighbors, either, except for permanent residents across the drive, who were quiet. I wasn't there much during the day anyway. The kitchen is very well outfitted - there is no lack of utensils. There were plenty of clean towels and linen. The decor is pleasant.

The photos are accurate as far as the contents and general looks of the cabin are concerned, but they don't represent what it's like to be in it very well. I could describe it as somewhere between tight and cramped. I'm not sure how two people could stay here at the same time without being always careful of each other's shins and toes. It's also very dark, despite the skylights. The windows are tiny and there aren't enough of them. Even on bright sunny days most of the lights needed to be on in order to really see well - to read, for example. The kitchen area opens up a little bit, but still, fitting more than two people at the kitchen table for a meal would be a real challenge. Even two would be awkward. The biggest hassle in my stay was that, at the end of the season, it was getting pretty cool at night, and the heater didn't work. After several phone calls back and forth to booking.com and to the local fixer, there were no solutions, and the conversation was dropped long before anything was resolved, even after a reminder the next day, during which it was promised that the matter would be put on the highest priority. I simply did not hear back from anyone. An offer from the local guy for space heaters, which I accepted gladly, never came to fruition, and there was no further communication about it. So it was fairly cool in there, except for a small space heater being able to warm up the bedroom, at least. Apart from being left in the cold, I can't believe how rudely I was treated throughout this episode.
