Here are some important points you need to know before you book here1) The road is exceptionally difficult. Not only is it unpaved, but full of ruts, and holes. My wife fell walking down the road, and broke her phone. If you have any mobility issues, you absolutely need to take a golf cart. 2) The property listed two golf carts included. On checkin, one golf cart was not available and the other had broken rear seats.3) you absolutely should rent your own 4x4 ATV here.4) Not mentioned in the listing, but we were informed you cannot flush toilet paper in the toilets and bins are provided in each bathroom to put used TP. While this is common in some places in Costa Rica, not all villas have this issue.5) There are two spin bikes pictured in the photos, however they are broken and can't be used (one is stuck on lowest resistance, the other on the max resistance)6) The pool filtering shuts off at 730PM, which means if you want to use the pool after hours, it accumulates debris and you lose the infinity effect. 7) We lost water one day for 7 hours. While this is common in CR, the issue is the villa has their own dedicated back up tanks which were EMPTY. This is the property manager issue not doing a good job.8) The pre arrival booking process is great, the owners really care, but the on location concierge isn't great. On day one, reported a broken toilet seat in the MBR, and slow shower drain in one of the rooms. Was never addressed during my stay.

This home is very thought-out. Lots of space and privacy. Eating indoors or out. Great pool with views. Housekeeping provided great breakfasts and a tidy environment all day long. We were there at the very beginning of the season, and the weather was fantastic. No bugs, but some cute geckos and birds. Close to the beach and town.

Our family of 11, 8 adults and 3 young kids had an absolutely AMAZING stay at Villa Paraiso.
The VILLA: It is incredibly well appointed, quality and comfortable linens, bedding, towels and robes. Kitchen has everything you could need, including an ice-maker and filtered water system. Worth noting you will need to purchase basic supplies like oil, spices, etc if you plan to cook yourself. The pool and the view are NOTABLE. The whole family swam everyday and we could not get enough of the epic view over Tamarindo. Stunning sunrises and sunsets. The grounds and common areas of the Villa are VERY spacious and the outdoor and indoor furniture more than accommodating and comfortable. Lastly, the rooms are all very spacious with great storage/closet options. The main suite is very separate and shares the gorgeous pool view - perfect for the grandparents to retreat.
The STAFF: Lauren and Kimberly were our chef, cleaning and laundry crew for the week and they were absolutely wonderful. I cried when we left them as they felt like family. We opted for breakfast only and every morning we started with decadent, delicious, bountiful breakfasts. They did laundry everyday, which was amazing and our villa was kept spic and span. They only speak Spanish, so if you do not have a Spanish speaker amongst your crew, make sure to have a translator on your phone for smooth communication. :D
The AREA: We loved Tamarindo! Lots to do and very kind and welcoming community. We also were very close to a number of awesome half day trips. The estuary tour we did in particular was a CANNOT MISS and of course the beaches. The beach is PERFECT for kids. Very flat and fairly calm surf. The golf carts they have onsite for use are fantastic for bopping around town, but do be forewarned, the steep dirt roads leading up to the Casa (which are necessary for that stunning view) are a bit daunting for some passengers on the golf carts, especially very young or very old. We were glad we also had rental cars.
This house has it all and more - we truly hope to return!!

What a wonderful week we spent over Thanksgiving 2025 with our family of 13. Everything was top notch, the property has the most amazing view of Tamarindo, and the sunsets were a nightly highlight. The property is really well thought out from the dining spaces, pool area and bedrooms.The staff made great recommendations and took care of transportation, fishing and catamaran tour. The two golf carts were provided with the house and were absolutely wonderful for trips into Tamarindo. The house staff cleaned our rooms daily, did laundry daily and cooked amazing breakfast - we loved the “typical” Costa Rican breakfast. Our chefs were top notch and made amazing fresh, healthy meals and even cooked a turkey on Thanksgiving. Our bartender was also amazing. Chamo took great care of us and made our week very special. Would HIGHLY recommend anyone with a larger group to stay at Villa Paraiso!
