Vicroad The Mount

We loved the vibe of this cosy little home away from home. It was comfortable and it was a hop step and a jump from town and the beach.

We didn’t like leaving.

Perfect for two friends getting away to The Mount for a weekend (or more) ,😉. It's in the middle of everything, walking distance to the boardwalk, the shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, absolutely wonderful.

No real problem for me, being short, but the single beds are the English-NZ, short single beds. Just be aware if you're taller than ~160cm and used to a normal sized adult single bed.

The apartment had the works, plenty of space and in a perfect location. It was easy to stay in and kept very clean.

The lighting was extremely dull. My husband had to get his headlamp out to wash the dishes in the evening, and we used our phone lights to cut vegetables.

Location - short walk to the shops and the beach/mount

No wifi at all in the bathroom, and it's mostly a miss in the living room. Wifi reaches other areas of the house. Our main issue was they were informed 4 days before our booking that there will be sewage works in the back of the house but we were only informed when we arrived. We couldn't use any water (tap, toilet, shower) from 8pm the whole time we were there. This meant we (with a baby) had to rush / cut our plans each night in order to go back an hour or two before 8 to prepare for dinner and have a shower before bed. If we had known about the water issue, we would have arranged for another rental but given we only knew when we arrived we had no choice but to just go along with the problem.
