kalymnos Island Rina Vathy fiord house

Extraordinary and spectacular location in traditional countryhouse with a more than breathtaking view on deep 'fjord' like inlet with mountains, the sea and Turkey. During the day in October around 11 am, this extremely quiet place changes under your eyes into a tourist spot for excursion boats with hundreds of passengers and after 4 pm it returns to sleep again, with some yachts remaining for the night. There are a couple of restaurants and small shops nearby for food and essentials. The countryhouse has a traditional interior (not modern), is spacious and very well equipped with more than everything you need (binoculars, washing machine with detergent, mosquitoscreens, beachtowels etc). It has many furnished terraces to sit and relax and has its own parking space next to the house. You are living in a natural environment, so there are some moments you must make clear that your house is yours and not for the little creatures who are also looking for shelter😉. There is a seperate swimming area within walking distance. Skevos, the host, is always there to help you, if you have any questions or remarks. He made us feel at home. Thank you Skevos!

The beds could use a topper to make them softer.

Wir waren noch nie in einem so traumhaften Steinhaus. Die Lage ein wenig erhöht mit super Blick aufs Meer. Die Ausstattung war top. Es hat einfach nichts gefehlt. Wir hätten Stunden auf der Terrasse sitzen können und einfach vor uns hin träumen. Aber es gab ja noch sonst viel zu entdecken. Am Abend kamen wir immer wieder gerne zurück. Wie gesagt ein Traum. Danke!!!!!

Uns hat alles gefallen

We stayed only one night, we should have booked for longer. The house was beautiful, very Greek, cosy, comfortable and kitted out with everything you might need. The location was amazing; a bird's-eye view of pirate ships during the day and yachts arriving on the evening. The sunrise was stunning. The pictures don't do it justice, but the feel of the place, the views, everything really....we loved it there.

It was perfect!

We spent 5 days here, I with my husband and a couple of friends in a 2 weeks touring of Bodrum, Kos and kalymnos. We were 4 people and we had the entire property. The house was equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals. Although the rooms weren't very large, they had a good layout and arrangement. Air-conditions only in the 2 bedrooms. Sitting on the large terrace was a great way to enjoy the view and contemplate the small harbor and surroundings. We met the owners once at the beginning, mister Skevos asked me if he could take a photo of my passport for his tax liabilities and I saod ok, they took us up to the house and told us we can call them if we need anything, but nothing was actually needed! At the end, we left the Keys in the tavern situated near the house. I have a movement condition, and it was a little bit tiring to walk up the private road up to the cliff to the house. We rented a small car but we prefered to park it down next to the garage door and not to use it for short distances such as going to the taverns or swimming just down the house. We had a great time, everything went according to plan, and we will return to Kalymnos again!
