Amsterdam Lake Hotel

Breakfast was excellent with rolls, boiled egg, yoghurt, fresh fruit, coffee/tea, fruit juice, pastries, cereals on offer. The staff were helpful and efficient. The hotel was very clean.

The website mentioned a shuttle bus; this was not true because travellers either have to use the local service bus and then walk for another 20 to 25 minutes or take a taxi in order to get to the hotel. This is not a problem but should have been made clearer. My room did not have a window. However, there was air conditioning.

The price, beautiful lake setting, cute/quiet neighbohood.. Bike rental available.

Not close to anything. No hotel shuttle - they arrange a taxi (EU $37 ea way to Schiphol). No elevator, VERY narrow spiral staircase to 100 rooms. Nothing complimentary, all ala carte.

I absolutely loved this hotel. Everything was spotless, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and comfortable, and it’s just an easy eight-minute drive from the airport.

Room too dark, not enough facilities, TV didn't work, bed hard, pillows dusty, breakfast rather fixed and not very appealing. Expensive for what it is, but only a handful of rooms, small, no bar and tea /coffee making in the room.

👎 Worst travel experience Rude and unprofessional reception. Old and worthless hotel. Dirty room, bed full of hair and no hygiene at all. Constant noise all night from doors slamming and water pipes. Very few and irresponsible staff. I strongly recommend no one ever stays in this hotel.

They gave us a free upgrade to a better room

It was really good especially for the price! Only missed a shower cabin or curtain so the bathroom doesn’t get all wet.

Two out of three staffs I had contact with were nice.

First, I wanted to change the room that was 10 euros the price difference from mine and they charged me 50 euros. The man who made this change was not very nice, actually looks like he is doing a favor to you letting you to stay in this hotel. The second most disappointing thing was the fact that I chose this hotel because I put a filter to have transfer to the airport provided by the hotel. It was terrible to have discovered when the taxist told us that we had to pay 39.99 euros for the transfer. They advertise airport transfer as part of the accommodation and IT IS NOT TRUE! The room was not very clean. It looked like that they did not had clean prior to our arrival.

In bookings.com it advertices they have an airport shuttle. That is not the case, I paid 37 EUROS to get to the airport in a taxi.

Booked a twin room but instead got put in a tiny twin room that had a giant pillar in the middle so we couldn't even put the beds together despite our best Tetris attempts with the beds. Clearly if I'm traveling with my partner I don't want to spend the night on a separate bed, I would have booked elsewhere had this been made clear and I couldn't get a refund to go stay somewhere else. Zero ventilation in the room so after having a shower everything was wet and we had to leave the main door to the room open just to get rid of the condensation. Paid extra for the breakfast which I think was €13pp which consisted of a single egg, a slice of ham and cheese and a few bits of bread. After the first morning of this abomination I asked for a refund for the breakfast as I'd prefer to just go without, but was then told I couldn't get a refund. Honestly without doubt the worst hotel I have had the misfortune of paying to stay in, and I've stayed in hotels in Iraq

Location Friendly staff

Breakfast was fine. Once I had a lunch bag because I had to leave early, the other times I had a normal breakfast.

The bathroom was already borderline. There isn't even a separate shower cubicle. As a result, the whole bathroom, including the toilet, is flooded when you take a shower. The water in the sink only drains if you hold the drain up manually.

The overall experience was brilliant! Hotel has beautiful view over an typical Amsterdam Canal with good public transport nearby. It only takes 5 stops to reach Van Gogh museum. Staff was friendly and the rooms were spotless

False advertising on booking reservation page !!!! NO airport shuttle but listed on reservation page !!

Room no window at all. Taxis by hotel to airport 2.7miles away charged 40 euro morning , 44 at night, bed was 67euros. I'd rather stay in the closest hotel in the airport.

Actually there is nothing I liked about that hotel except nice chairs in lobby.

Please don’t get scammed as we did. Pictures placed on booking are totally different, seems like totally different place, rooms are small awful and dirty. Lady on the reception took ages to accommodate us. Also charged us additional £100 per room as a deposit (?), which we weren’t informed about before. We ended up in a basement, with terrifying small rooms. The „view we had” was on the parking. The other room has no windows. To get there you had to defeat maze of corridors then very small and steep stairs, no elevator there. So If you have problems with walking or big luggage then I wish you good luck. Inside the rooms was freezing, if not air conditioning (btw it didn’t work properly) I’d leave this place same night. Price totally not adequate to the standard. Never again.

The room had been modernises

The property is falsely advertised. It shows as Airport Shuttle. Which it didnt. It was so far out of the way. There r no restaurants or shops near it. They just sell heated up pizza. No tea or coffee facility unless u pay to use a machine. A disappointing stay

The facilities were lovely, nicely decorated rooms and a nice reception team. Very helpful and understanding staff.

Our first night, we had a few issues, such as water coming through the wall and forming a puddle, no TV remote, and an old towel and water bottle under the bed. After we brought this to their attention, they did everything in their power to fix it, and the rest of the stay was fabulous.

Closer to airport

Staff is horrible. They try to trick you in every possible way. Stay away from this property. They issued me a key to a room where some one was sleeping. Staff hardly speak English

Pleasant surroundings

The property's entry was misleading in a number of respects. They may be less than 3 miles from the airport as the crow flies but it is a lot further by road. Their shuttle doesn't exist - they will order you a taxi. I was charged €55 because the taxi driver had difficulty finding the place. Although the location is pleasant by the lakeside the facilities are too poor for a stay of several days and the location too inconvenient for a stopover.

Property was excellent value for money

Perfect hotel to stay in if you have an early airport flight or want a quiet place outside the main central Amsterdam When my flight got cancelled, they allowed me to book another day on the spot which was very kind of them, great customer service Breakfast box was good in the morning, can be eaten in room if you decide! Offered to arrange taxis Lovely view on the lake, great wifi and comfy&clean rooms! The people were so kind and helpful so cannot fault them at all

Bus route to the place is not ideal, 30 minute walk from the bus stop No restaurant in the hotel for lunch/dinner and only 1 nice restaurant near the hotel (less than 10 minute walk) unless you travel On my second night my room was near the building works which was loud, but that is expected!

Even the room next to the river but inside room there're a lot of mosquito. Can't sleep at all. The staff don't willing to help resolve the trouble, always say can't or don't possible
