Our stay at Tamao Kyoto was truly exceptional - a unique experience in a charming chambre d’hôtes in Kyoto. The location is excellent: just a short walk to the old town and conveniently close to the train station, making it ideal for anyone planning to use public transport extensively. Despite its central location, the property feels like a peaceful oasis away from the bustle of the city. The courtyard garden, with its bamboo and hydrangeas, is absolutely beautiful and creates a serene atmosphere that invites you to slow down and simply enjoy the surroundings. The property itself is stunning - immaculately clean, finished to a very high standard, with thoughtful attention to every detail. It has such a calming, relaxing feel that you genuinely want to spend the whole day there. Our room was very spacious, with a large, luxurious bath that was perfect after a full day of walking around the city. Everything was extremely comfortable, and we truly appreciated all the beautiful design elements and the care that had clearly gone into creating the space. Most importantly, Naly, our host, and the entire team were incredible - warm, helpful, kind, and effortlessly welcoming. They made everything feel easy and personal. We also enjoyed a wonderful breakfast each morning, including amazake made from steamed rice fermented with koji, followed by eggs on toast with delicious jam and fresh juice. During breakfast, Naly and Aya kindly answered all our questions and gave us excellent recommendations, which greatly enhanced our stay. We absolutely loved our time at Tamao Kyoto and are deeply grateful to Naly and the entire team for such a fantastic and memorable experience. Thank you so much!

Everything it was elegant, beautiful and relaxing. The staff were superb and treat you like family. Location is superb. Beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. Most beautiful stay we had in Kyoto. Just amazing.
