Forest paradise

I have a demanding job where people annoy me all day long. If you take a break from something like that, this is without a doubt a place to be. The owner and her son picked me up from the train station and brought me to the little house. The house has all the privacy, peace & serenity that one can hope for. It appears quite primitive but inside it has everything you need like a steady supply of hot water for showers, and a bottled tap for drinking. Also the owners went above and beyond to accommodate my special needs since I'm very interested in learning how to make the local arts myself. That also needs to be said. Koprivnica, and the neighbouring villages Hlebine and Durdevac are the birth places of Croatian naive art, so if you don't know that yet (you should because it's amazing), especially the oil on glass) and you like arts, this is an excellent place to start your journey. The usage of 2 bikes also are included and they are well maintained so you can explore the region without any problems. In another place I had a different experience with that in the negative sense.) I was there alone but especially for couples I would recommend because it makes a perfect love nest. Don't hesitate, just book. Almost forgot Koprivnica city is like 5km away but it has a very good restaurant very nearby.

Nista. (Croatian for nothing.)

Prilipo misto u brigu i dolinama. Buđenje uz ptičice i posjet srna. Preslatka kućica bas za punjenje baterija. Dok smo se sunčali i gradelali ni misli u glavi. Tisina po noći na terasi, objekt ima sve što duša poželi. Domaćini su izuzetno ljubazni.

The host was very charming, friendly and helpful. A lot of love and effort was put in decorating the place. They left us drinks, cookies and coffee to use as much as we like, the also left a lot of other random things that we might need. Very kind people :)

The bathroom is not on the same level as the bedroom, to reach the bottom level where the bathroom is you have to go outside. We didn't mind that, but I am writing this because someone might not like that. But it is a minor inconvenience in regards to how charming the place and location is :)

Naša domaćica, gđa Ksenija, ljubazno nas je dočekala u dogovoreno vrijeme. Ukratko nam je pokazala objekt i sve njegove potencijale koji su istinski zadivljujući. Posebno su me fascinirali retro eksponati izloženi u kućici, jednako u skladu s pokućstvom i namještajem u interijeru koji je brižljivo postavljen i estetski usklađen. Nesumnjivo, naša je domaćica osoba s velikm životnim iskustvom i smislom za funkcionalnost, estetiku i sklad. Ta skladna cjelina kućice i okoliša odiše ladanjskim ugođajem u šumskoj idili gdje se čovjek može istinski opustiti i barem nakratko osjećati potpuno relaksirano i bajkovito, gotovo idilično. Bio je to vikend za pamćenje, supruga i ja sigurno ćemo opet navratiti u godinama što slijede!
