Apartment Laura

The basement apartment was spacious and comfortable. It was also the most quiet and private of the apartments. It stayed cool even without the air con (which was very good) and the shower was good. The bed was comfortable (if a bit too soft for us). There is a full size fridge freezer and a washing machine, both useful. The pool was lovely and always clean. There’s 4 or maybe 5 apartments though and it is quite small so it can feel crowded quickly. The beach is 5 mins walk away and the nearest small supermarket is 15 mins walk away. There’s a number of restaurants along the shore in Avola, including two beach bars serving food, a seafood restaurant and many sandwich shops near the apartment. The agency staff who manage the apartment were helpful in recommending a taxi.

Unfortunately, it is not made clear beforehand that to check in you have to first go to the agents office in central Avola to pick up the keys. This was inconvenient as we were travelling by train and on foot / but the agency assumes everyone has a car (I received three messages about parking at the villa even after telling them we were arriving by train…) they also made us go to their office again the next day to pay the tourist tax (24 euros). The apartment could do with some additional fixtures and fittings: a full length mirror, some towel hooks in the bathroom, some larger/sharper knives in the kitchen, more glasses and mugs etc. It would have been helpful if more than one toilet roll had been provided and if some laundry capsules had been left (we bought and then left some ourselves). The tv didn’t connect properly to the internet for some reason so we couldn’t connect to YouTube, netflicks etc

La piscina e la posizione

È un seminterrato con feritoie in alto, quindi non ha nessuna visuale esterna. Non ha armadio, solo una appenderia di un metto di larghezza con poche grucce
