Villa Céu e Mar

The property itself is attractive and matches the photos. We particularly enjoyed the private swimming pool, which was a great feature (heating is available at an additional daily cost, which we opted for). The view from the property was also excellent.

The check-in process was uncomfortable. We arrived slightly late due to a flight delay and collecting rental cars, and despite apologising multiple times, the hosts continued to express frustration, which made us feel unwelcome. Having travelled extensively, we expected a bit more understanding/flexibility for overseas guests. According to the booking, we rented the entire villa with 3 bedrooms, even though we needed 2. We got into a bit of an awkward situation when we needed an extra pillow and checked the 3rd bedroom. It was not clean at all, so we could not take anything from there. The following morning, we were told we had only booked two bedrooms (I am still not sure how that was assumed/decided) and should not have entered the third room. Even though I shared my booking details with the host, clearly showing I booked the entire place, I did not receive any apology or explanation about the dirty room. I hope the hosts clarify their understanding/standard with Booking.com. The location was also not ideal for us (no fault of the property) as it was far away from most of the places we wanted to visit. It would be an ideal place if someone wants to stay home, relax and enjoy the view.

This is the best vacation home we’ve ever stayed in (granted, we also increased our budget). The house is beautifully decorated and the views of the sea are to die for. It’s a short drive to Prazeres and Jardim do Mar, where you’ll find restaurants and groceries. Tobias was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!!
