Riad Azad & Spa

The hosts Hasan and Zakariya were both very friendly and helpful. Both of them made our stay very pleasant. They offered suggestions about places to visit in the city and Hasan told me about Maps me. Which was extremely useful app. The first night we had dinner at the riad and both the burger and the Riad's special tagine was absolutely delicious 😋 They offer massage and hammam services for the ladies and the massage was very relaxing with both the massage therapists being excellent at their job. The daily Moroccan breakfast was very filling. Comprising of Moroccan tea, orange juice, Moroccan pancakes, cakes, jam, honey, butter etc. The children enjoyed interacting with the resident cat Mimee as well. The terrace had sun loungers which allowed the guests to relax in the early morning breeze or evening time.

Very beautiful Riad, has its own charm and the room was good.

My wife and I utilized the spa and requested the Hammam with the massage. I must say I’m very disappointed in it and would not recommend to anyone to get it. The hammam wasn’t hot enough, towards the end of the bath the water was cold. The effort in the scrub down seemed to be very little. My masseur didn’t seem to know what she was doing and was learning as she was going from the other masseur that was attending to my wife. One of the ladies had the relaxing music on her phone, and several times throughout the massage it would loudly get interrupted by a loud commentator for a football match on their phone while massaging us! When all this was done they pressured me to leave a tip stating that the front desk doesn’t pay them tips. I shared my frustration next morning with the person working the front while I was paying him. He didn’t seem to really care and didn’t offer any compensation. I was also 30 minutes late for breakfast and he said it’s too late.
