Riad Azad & Spa

This is an unquestioningly beautiful Riad in a traditional style literally just outside the main Medina area. The inner courtyard is breathtakingly beautiful and first impressions are awesome. Karim was a brilliant host and helped get us to and from the Riad easily. We also took advantage of the spa to have a hammam and massage which were both awesome. Our room was a double height mezzanine area and had great views from the window.

The shower plug in our room was blocked so quickly puddled up, the facilities were basic in the room and it felt a little like a hostel though I’m not sure if this is just normal in Marrakesh. Still it felt quite pricey for what it was as we spent over 500 euros for a night including the massages. I also didn’t like much being asked to pay an additional credit card surcharge out of nowhere and the breakfast was a little basic. A swimming pool would also have been great for this price.

Staff were nice and approchable.

sometimes the water stop and the heater is fluctuating

The staff was amazing, Zaka from the Riad went above and beyond for us. He welcomed us at our arrival with tea and great hospitality. He offered suggestions for our stay in morroco and made us feel comfortable and at home. The hotel is gorgeous, delicious food, great location and comfortable room and bed. I would recommend to everyone.

Very beautiful Riad, has its own charm and the room was good.

My wife and I utilized the spa and requested the Hammam with the massage. I must say I’m very disappointed in it and would not recommend to anyone to get it. The hammam wasn’t hot enough, towards the end of the bath the water was cold. The effort in the scrub down seemed to be very little. My masseur didn’t seem to know what she was doing and was learning as she was going from the other masseur that was attending to my wife. One of the ladies had the relaxing music on her phone, and several times throughout the massage it would loudly get interrupted by a loud commentator for a football match on their phone while massaging us! When all this was done they pressured me to leave a tip stating that the front desk doesn’t pay them tips. I shared my frustration next morning with the person working the front while I was paying him. He didn’t seem to really care and didn’t offer any compensation. I was also 30 minutes late for breakfast and he said it’s too late.
