This place is just wonderful and it exceeded our expectations in all areas. The Onsen is gorgeous and we also had one in our room, which was fabulous. The Italian dinner was exceptional. All of us--3 adults--agreed, that we would stay here again. The town is quaint and the lake an mountains are spectacular.
I am not fond of a Japanese Breakfast, although appreciated the authenticy.

The wooden onsen bath inside the room, along with the view of the lake from the room, are just simply amazing. Great food, staff is very welcoming and the lady at the receptionist spoke great English. There are only a handful of rooms so it feels very private and luxurious. They also managed to pick us up from the bus station so we did not have to walk in the snow. You can also book to use the outdoor onsen (wooden and rock) upon check in.

The staffs are friendly and helpful. The dinner is not good. The breakfast is very bad, both my wife and I are headache after eating breakfast.
The onsen room looks terrible and stopped us to go inside. The towers too small.
