The location was great, and the home was beautifully decorated

The stairs are absolutely insane and become annoying after a few days, the lack of air conditioning was manageable, but really should be considered during warmer seasons . We received complaints of noise during our stay for casual conversations over heard by neighbors. It makes sense in a residential apartment building because of the acoustics which provide zero privacy. The house was pretty much unattended during the entire stay I never was able to locate the pool and was consistently referred to the security at the front for assistance. instructions on little things such as Wi-Fi were not provided, and my request to have the pantry stock upon arrival simply did not occur, which left us with getting food deliveries late and leaving the home fully stock with food we simply could not finish or travel with. It was a frustrating waste of money, but a lesson learned for sure.

We stayed at this location 3 times over the course of 3 weeks in Kenya making it our Nairobi base for safari and island travel. Each experience was different but each time there were problems. Each time we stayed the staff and guards were friendly and helpful when there were issues. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. There were toiletries, water, coffee, tea, sugar and milk as promised.

The cleaners need a check list. It was very inconsistent, one time the towels were missing and it took overnight wait to get them enough for our group forcing us to share and use hand towels, one time there was no dish cleaner, once no drinking water and another no drying rack and unfortunately this was after safari when we had 6 peoples clothing to wash. On average each request took 14 hours to resolve each problem. There were never enough blankets and the nights were cool. Our second stay, Aberdare 8 was not cleaned, the floors were dirty and it had not been swept or mopped and tho the linens and towels were clean, one duvet was riddled with holes. This location is in a challenging location, there is no access to shops or restaurants without a taxi or uber where you drive 15 minutes when you could have walked it in 10 if there were a street crossing. Shops and restaurants are on the opposite side of a 6 lane busy street and the only footbridge overpass is 1/4 mile away. Walking is not an option as motorcycles use the dirt (often muddy) walkway to get around the vehicle traffic that is always congested and non-stop. Food delivery is not an option for foreigners as these services are flagged on your credit card as potential scams and this locks your credit card requiring long phone calls to clear. They do have a food service thru YourHost but we found the food to be substandard and only ordered once.
