We went there for medical reasons and were looking for a hotel nearer to Apollo hospital. It is approximately 800m from the hospital. The auto stand is just beside the hotel. All kinds of shops - fruit shops, vegetable markets, groceries are nearby so if anyone wants to cook, it will be easier for them. They have allowed us to do an early check-in. The staff are cordial and arranged a cab for our one day trip to Mahabalipuram on request.

We stayed there for five days. The room was on the second floor which is quite difficult to avail for any patients or older persons. The bedsheets were not changed in that period. The washroom was nearly clean but the taps were not working properly. They even charged for supplying water. The early check-in can be allowed by the owner on request if a room is available. But, that doesn't mean checkout time will be preponed accordingly. But, we were informed by the staff of this new rule which I feel did not follow the standard.

The guy in charge is very friendly. We asked him to fix a dripping tap in the bathroom, and he did it promptly. The other staff were also friendly. I felt secure with them but see the comments below where they could improve.

The check-in experience wasn't great. We arrived late at night, and there was no way to know how to get into the establishment. This was even though we had communicated our ETA to a company staff member on WhatsApp. Luckily, there were some other lodgers who had rooms on the ground floor with access to the outside, and they helped us figure out which was the main entrance and how to contact the guy in charge. I didn't have an Indian SIM or local data on my phone yet, so I couldn't call anyone. It would have been very helpful if there had been a sign outside about which is the main entrance and/or a bell. The room I stayed in had a bizarre system for turning the light and fan on and off: it was outside in the corridor! So, on the night I arrived, I slept with the lights on. The lock inside my door was a joke. It was just a cheap thing hanging on for its dear life. As a result, the door always had a huge crack, and anyone could see in if they wanted to. Also, the lock was so flimsy that if someone wanted to enter the room, they just had to yank the door. When we arrived, one of the screws on the lock was about to fall off. They tightened it when we asked them (as I said the staff was friendly), but when we said the lock offered hardly any security, they said it was a "family-run" business and that we were secure. I was travelling with two women, and I would not have dared to leave them alone. The security of the rooms is definitely not there.
