Soir d'Été

The inside of the gite is exactly as shown in the property pictures. Calm, welcoming, very clean and well kitted out. All you need. The electric shutters a marvel. WiFi was excellent. We looked forward to returning each evening. Private parking a bonus. Everything that beautiful Royan has to offer is close by, to drive or walk to. Nice places to visit in the surrounding area too. We did not meet Jean-Marie but he provided info by text and responded to us quickly. Very helpful. To walk to Royan: as you come from the drive on to the pavement turn right, walk until you see Boulevard Albert 1er. Turn right and follow the Boulevard down to the sea front. As you come to the end, you’ll see a mini funfair in front of you. Walk through this and you’ll be facing the sea. Turn left and you can walk to golden sands, turn right and head to the port with its many restaurants and bars below the roadway, opening out to the sea. There were also, shops, bars and restaurants on the way. We were spoilt for choice and really enjoyed this. It felt safe and in parts sophisticated. We’ve made some excellent memories.

Being picky, we felt the outside space could have had a little time spent on it; the lawn in particular.
