About this apartment rental
Cozy "Pariba" studio for 1-2 people, four-poster bed, private terrace, air conditioning, hot water and fridge. Large swimming pool with children's pool, terrace with large kitchen and BBQ. Mini resort with 4 apartments, 15 minutes drive to town and beach. Our rate includes utilities, air conditioning, cleaning, and taxes.

The space
Apartment "Pariba” is a studio with four poster bed, large fridge, a nice bathroom and a private shaded terrace with outdoor kitchenette. The studio can accommodate 1-2 people and is close to the pool and shared porch.
Amigunan is a mini resort with 4 apartments for 2 to 14 people. Through the tropical blinds door you enter your apartment. You unpack your suitcase and store your clothes in the wardrobe. Of course, you can do this later or not at all. Just living out of the suitcase is also possible. There is a safe to store your valuables.
The bedroom has a ceiling fan and air conditioning. You decide whether you want to enjoy the cold of the US or Europe a while longer, or whether you prefer to feel the sultry Caribbean wind through your room. Do not use the air conditioning when the doors are open, no one has been able to influence the temperature on the island with an air conditioning!
Of course, free Wi-Fi is available throughout Amigunan. But immediately a warning: You are on vacation and all those e-mails, stock prices and news can be for some time with less personal attention from you. Enjoy the island, the residents and all the fun things you can do. Because there are plenty of them! All bathrooms have cold and hot water. The water is heated by solar panels.
If you're planning on touring the island or visiting bays, take the provided cooler with you. You can buy beer, wine, fresh and a bag of ice cubes at any (snack)bar. You'll have plenty of chilled drinks with you all day. Drinking a lot of moisture is important, because sweating causes you to lose a lot of moisture.
Guest access
A real tropical garden, a huge shared porch and a wonderful swimming pool with paddling pool ensure the real holiday feeling. It is the perfect base to get to know the island and is also a wonderful “home” to unwind completely. And because Amigunan is build with the wind in mind, it never gets too hot.
On the shared dining-kitchen terrace you will also meet the other guests. You can then hear their experiences and exchange tips on what you should definitely see. Of course, you are completely free to sit down at the large round table or grab a separate table with your own company. It's a lovely cool spot overlooking the lighted pool. Here you can also find the BBQ.
Other things to note
If you don't feel like touring the island for a day, going to one of the many beautiful beaches, or shopping in Punda, Otrobanda or in one of the many shopping malls, you can of course just stay "at home". Enjoy doing nothing, reading, talking or listening on your terrace.
Or you can go to the sun terrace around the pool in the garden. This is just a big BBQ grill on the floor, but for people. So apply sunscreen well! You can dream away in one of the lounge chairs or in the hammocks and do a siesta. You can hear the birds whistling very calmly, maybe you can spot an iguana in the distance and when you get too hot, you can cool off in the pool.
But pay attention! The sun on Curacao is very strong! Due to the constant wind you hardly notice it, but you burn very quickly and that is very harmful to your skin. Avoid the period between 11 and 15 hours to sunbathe. This can cause sunburn, which is not good and definitely not healthy. Lobsters are for pleasure, not for comparison.
On the porch you will find all kinds of information about restaurants, diving, sailing, windsurfing, deep-sea fishing, nature parks, supermarkets, shopping malls, wellness, golf, and so on. There is also a cabinet with various reading books. You will find books in Dutch but also in English. You can borrow, read and return books to your heart's content. If you don't finish a book, you can also take it home. We appreciate leaving an equivalent book instead. This keeps the library well stocked for the other guests.
Do you like cooking? At the shared porch, you can prepare a meal that may or may not be extensive. There is a beautiful 5-burner gas stove and a huge oven. If you'd like, you can also invite other guests. Don't forget the hostess and host! You can cook together. Or organise a cooking workshop and exchange recipes with the other guests. And luckily there is also a dishwasher.
What you don't need to bring home are bath towels and beach towels. You get clean bath towels for showering and will get comfy large beach towels to take with you when you visit the beaches.
Every week, towels and sheets are replaced by crispy clean sheets. Your apartment is also cleaned weekly. If you want to do that more often, brooms, mops, wipes etc. are at your disposal.
You don't have to do that yourself! At a 2-minute drive away you will find a laundry room where you can have your laundry washed, folded, ironed or even dry cleaned. And for an amount for which you don't even buy a bottle of detergent back home.

The hosts Eldon and Hilly were extremely nice and welcoming. The place was just like in the pictures. Loved the plants and the outdoor space. It was like being in a mini jungle. There's a kitchenette outdoors and a grill too. The neighborhood was pretty quiet and peaceful but I would recommend getting a car so you can explore the island's beaches and restaurants and activities. Not far from the airport and driving around is easy. I lucked out and happened to be there for Carnaval which was cool to see on the island. Would recommend as a nice place rest at the end of a day of exploring.
