About this cabin rental
2 bedroom mobile home, converted to a cabin on the Black River. The bathroom has been renovated. Large windows allow excellent views of the river. Sit on the deck or 3 season room and watch the boats go by. Linens and towels are not provided with the rental, you will have to bring your own, there is a laundry unit for your convenience. There is a private boat dock. Bring your own boat to fish / cruise the river or head out to Black Lake. Black Lake is 10,000 acres with several sandy beach areas to stop and a swim. There are also 2 Kayaks to paddle the river down to the damn or out to the lake. Bring your ATVs, ride to the Black Mountain Recreation Area and 2 extensive trail systems. "The best ATV area in Lower Michigan" The cabin is close to several bars / restaurants and golf courses. 15 minutes from Downtown Cheboygan and 40 minutes from Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island.

Great location and great size for what we needed. This was a last minute booking, we were supposed to go tent camping however, the weather was not going to cooperate. Appreciate all the cookware and spices that are available. In addition, it was nice not to have satellite TV, cable, or streaming available. This may not be a bonus for all, but it was for us. Great fire pit location, right by the river, very peaceful. Kayaks were also a nice touch.
Not all was great though. There is a very strong musty smell, mainly in the bedrooms. Did not notice it in the living room, kitchen, or bathroom. Anything that was in the bedrooms had to be put in the wash as soon as we got home. (clothes that were not worn, duffel bags, sheets, etc.) as they picked up the musty smell. Also, the bathroom door will not latch, at least we could not get it too. Since we are on the topic of the bathroom, the only source of air when taking a shower, the window, would not stay up. Propped it open with a shampoo bottle. Lastly, as more of an FYI, the flies will overwhelm the 3-seasons room. Maybe they were getting in from the sliding glass door that would not close properly (big gap at the top). Advise bringing own fly swatter.
It may not sound like it, but overall we did enjoy our stay. Just feel the value was not there.
