Entre ciel et Lot

Superb property, best we’ve stayed in since going to France over the last 4 or 5 years. Air con, very good clean gas bbq, heated pool, all kitchen spot on. Everything really good in great location & Pascale was a brilliant host, very attentive and very quick to help and attend with any questions etc.

Het huis is efficiënt ingericht, alle benodigdheden zijn aanwezig die je thuis hebt om te koken, te eten,… Het huis is heel rustig gelegen en toch ben je op wandelafstand van het dorp met een lekkere bakker, kleine supermarkt en ook een grote supermarkt. Op minder dan 1 km was een supercharger voor onze elektrische auto. De gastvrouw Pascale was zeer vriendelijk, was steeds bereikbaar om vragen te beantwoorden of om te helpen maar stelde zich ondertussen heel discreet op. Het zwembad staat in de tuin die ook nog groot is. Dus ruimte is er zeker genoeg. Wij komen zeker nog eens terug.

Here is our detailed and honest review of our 2 week summer stay at Entre Ciel et Lot We are 2 families of 4 who regularly holiday in France so have many previous experiences to compare this stay to. When we booked our stay at Entre Ciel et Lot the price appeared good value vs previous stays at other properties and appeared to include everything on our wish list -Modern and large private pool area -Air Conditioning -Modern and clean Gite -Rural(ish) location We booked early and looked forward to our visit, communications with the owner were friendly. When we arrived in 40c heat we were greeted by the owner and were very pleased with the condition of the property and grateful of having A/C! The pool area was perfect, exactly what we had hoped for and exactly as the pictures suggested. The property is situated on the edge of Prayssac which is a stunning area of France and right on the river Lot. There is an Intermarché within 1 mile which has all you will need including fast EV chargers. Prayssac has a few Restaurants and Shops and there is a large market each Friday. We would 100% stay in Prayssac again.

Unfortunately there were some negatives which would prevent us from staying at Entre Ciel et Lot again and which detracted from how lovely the whole property was. Prior to arrival the owner asked us to update with our expected ETA which was fine. We had approximately 400 miles to do and knew the property would be available from 4pm. When we were within 1 hour we updated the owner to suggest we would be arriving in Prayssac at approximately 3:30pm. We immediately had a blunt message back telling us the property would not be ready until 4pm and that we were told this already. We knew this and were not expecting to be checked in until 4pm at the earliest. We were a bit taken back by the message but gave the benefit of the doubt with how a text message can be perceived and the language difference. The advert for the property does not clearly point out a few important points that should be made available for anyone considering booking this property. 1. The owner lives on site in the main house which backs on to the pool/garden 2. The owner will use the pool area as they please when you are not 3. Because of the above the property was not (in our opinion) private and felt more like a home stay/house share. We are very respectful guests with young families and always look after a property like it was our own but we felt a pressure of being watched during our holiday and worried we would be ‘told off’ for doing something wrong. Whilst going out one day to visit a local market we were messaged by the owner who noticed we were out telling us to let her know if we were out in the future so she could use the pool or invite friends around for lunch. This aggravated us and made us feel like we had again done something wrong on our holiday by not letting her know our plans every day. The brochure inside the property also suggested the pool couldn’t be used between 12:30-14:30 each day and that if you wanted to use after 8pm you needed to ask permission to do so.
