About this house rental

Welcome to the Twin Tides Intercostal Cottage. One of two of our unique side-by-side properties on the ICWW with a private pier and dock- with a slip available to our avid boaters (upon request and review assuming un-rented and for an additional fee).

We renovated this home with our own family of 6 in mind. Very family friendly and family oriented.

When we renovated, we had no intention to rent the home so we put all we had into it, making it perfect for our large family. Our kitchen features all Subzero and Wolf appliances- a true home chefs dream. The kitchen features concrete countertops- which are great but please be cautious and don't leave liquids long enough to sink in!

On the main level there is a master bedroom, with easy access off the kitchen and private access to the bathroom. Great for parents wanting a separate space from their kiddos, or a wonderful spot for in-law/grandparents.

Upstairs we have three additional bedrooms and a loft/flex space.

Currently, the loft is used with kids in mind. We have crafts and a table for kids to be creative for any afternoon storm time.

There is a bedroom specifically keeping the kids in mind. It features 2 twin beds.

The second bedroom upstairs features a king size bed and shares a bathroom with the kids bedroom.

There is also a master upstairs! This room is too perfect for parents. It features a king size bed, and the attached private bathroom spared no expense for us. It's got handmade tile in the bathroom, concrete countertops featuring shells from the intracoastal and marble flooring. It also has a massive tub for your enjoyment. The master also has its own private balcony, which is hands down the best spot to watch dolphins and the sunrise.

Our location is unique, we're located right across from a protected island. So the views will always be unspoiled from development. We're also down a long gravel driveway giving you plenty of privacy. We are also on a peninsula, allowing not only intracoastal and ocean views, but marsh views on the backside. One of my favorite things about this property is the marsh. The marsh is so alive, and something right out of a novel.

We have a large lot- esp for the beach! Please use the playground, pier, and property at your own discretion. The yard is perfect for our fur children to also get some off leash exercise, please just make sure our pet friends stay in our yard- while it's very private, we do have neighbors that share that long dirt road we live down.

For the pier, the boat slips are available for an additional fee upon prior approval and assuming the slips aren't already rented. Feel free to fish or clam or crab! There is a sand bar that peaks it's head at low tide, it is a MUST to go explore the sandbar. Let the kids catch a hermit crab or go clamming to get a real feel for the coastal lifestyle. Feel free to grab a kayak or paddle board if available. We have several but guests tend to not exactly "care" for these items so it's dwindling each year we rent. But, you're always more than welcome to bring whatever gear you may need to enjoy the water.

We also feature an outdoor bathroom and a separate outdoor shower. If you've got children, you've heard the bathroom pleas as soon as you get situated. The outdoor bath makes it easier than taking soaking wet little ones all the way in the house! The shower is excellent to wash all that sand off prior to going inside too, and obviously something us owners love for guests to use!

This house is at the end of almost a mile long dirt driveway, it's a very private escape! If seclusion isn't your thing, or you like city lights, this listing isn't for you!

We're always updating furniture and my toxic trait is never being done with renovations, so expect some updates from current photos!

Looking for a family reunion? Book our Ocean Tides private home also. Views of the Atlantic Ocean can be seen from our newly renovated property right next door!

Minutes away from Carolina Beach, the NC Fort Fisher Aquarium, the NC Battleship, golf courses or downtown Wilmington. This house spared no expense to truly make it a retreat to visit time and time again. You will love this coastal cottage that looks like it came out of a novel. We only rent enough to be able to hang on to the property and enjoy it ourselves! We hope you love our home as much as ours. In a perfect world our guests would be yearly repeat visitors!

The location of this property is perfect for families who want to experience the nature and views of the marsh and the ICW. The location is private, but still close to activities and only 20 minutes from either Wilmington or Carolina Beach. The house is cozy and well-appointed, and the private dock is one of the main reasons we chose this rental. The views, location, and ability to bring our four-legged family were a huge plus too. The owner is very nice and responsive, and everything went smoothly. A seafood market is close by, with everything you could want. It is easy to go into downtown Wilmington or take a boat ride from the front yard all the way to Bald Head Island. We even saw three beautiful spotted eagle rays right on the sandbar in front of the house! The views are outstanding, with a dozen different wading birds right outside the windows. The windows don't have curtains, so be prepared to wake up a bit early, but why would you want to sleep in when there is so much to do? This will be our go-to place to stay in the Wilmington area.

If you are on the fence vs. other properties in the area that may be cheaper, book this home! There is no beach experience like it. The location is almost at the end of a single lane road that leads you back to the inlet, so the privacy is unparalleled. Our family loved the dock, especially in the evenings. We crabbed and fished. Now, the home, WOW! Whatever you’re thinking from the pictures, it will twice as great when you see it. Lined with glass doors, you have a permanent inlet view. The kitchen appliances are extraordinary, so I would suggest using them & cooking fresh seafood as we did. The house was immaculate and super easy check in / check out. Master upstairs bathroom takes your breath away with an inlet view from anywhere in the bathroom, nothing was skimmed on when this was done. Amber, our host was super kind and always on top of responding to messages, sharing local information & going above and beyond. The few things to note: this is not beach access but less than 5 miles away and you can always equally enjoy the private dock, the laundry is on the lower level, in a small room that was unconditioned & very smelly - we just avoided it and washed clothes when we got home, the upstairs area has a room for the kids that is connected to a reading nook area and then goes into another bedroom but none of the three rooms have doors to separate from each other, and oddly, the master suite upstairs has no door on the bathroom. I did not contact the host on these items.

Amber was a wonderful host! She worked with us last minute to take my mother in law who is gong through cancer treatment on a long relaxing weekend! The house had everything we needed not to mention perfect location! We hope to return in the future! Thank you again for opening up your home to us!

Our stay was wonderful, multiple paddle boards and kayaks at our disposal. Fishing from the dock was not only fun but so relaxing. Most of our time was spent at this beautiful home due to all the daily activities that were located on property. Sitting on the deck while the sun was setting and under the lights after dark was perfect. Can’t say enough about our stay, we will be back.
