We found Pont Audemer an interesting French town; the apartment fitting in well with its history.
The apartment is close to the lovely town of Pont Audemer, and is in a typical older French house on the first floor. We met Julie, who was very nice but with restricted English (as I am with my French). I will stay there again, but people should know this is more a 'stopping off ' accommodation for a night or two. The town has such a lot of history to it, with old atmospheric streets. My wife, and I, and my friend were fine in this accommodation, but please realise the apartment is in a very old building, where other French people live their own individual lives around you. I loved that !!!
Parking was tight on this busy street. I feel Booking.com could do more to ensure people like me are given earlier direct contact openings with hosts, as I have a 22 year old phone that has no email function, and when we arrived at the apartment, noone was there. We were very tired and stressed, from a long drive and new road networks, and but for an older French lady who had Julie's number, the night would have been a disaster. I came back to a message on my home laptop with Julie's number on it, sent the day after I'd left for France. Ridiculous! But I do use Booking.com a lot, and like it a lot- but people like me should be considered.
