Spacious Retreat with Outdoor Firepit & Large Deck

Very spacious and comfortable house! Great location for hiking, wineries, antiquing, breweries. Large kitchen, dining area, living spaces. All essentials provided in abundance!

The location of the home is great for hiking and historic sightseeing. It does not have mountain views as advertised and appears to be in the middle of several renovations with many upgrades of a DIY quality. The home desperately needs a thorough dusting—cobwebs hang from ceilings, walls, window sills, etc. The refrigerator was so full of half eaten food (egg shells, cheese, jellies, etc) and condiments there was hardly room for our groceries. The bathrooms had half used bars of soap and shampoo bottles. Perhaps the owner is trying to provide amenities by placing these items, but it feels more like walking into someone’s home with their used supplies sitting around then entering a vacation home. Clearly areas of the kitchen and bath had not been cleaned because they were cluttered with items. While I respect the request to remove shoes when on the carpet (and we obliged), the wooden steps between bedroom and living rooms were extremely slippery and resulted in my elderly father and preschool-aged child falling down the stairs. A skid-proof strip or warning to bring slippers with treads would eliminate this serious fall situation. I also had to reach out to the owner to obtain check in information. Also, the neighbors tick-infested dogs were onsite throughout our stay. They seemed friendly and didn’t bother us, so I only offer this info to the owner to be aware of the dog droppings in the yard and that the dogs tried on occasion to enter the home.
