Climb the mountain of stairs

The location is good for the city centre and train.

Too many stair and no alternative but to climb them.

The location is very convenient for the city centre, train and metro.

Far too many stairs to all apartments. I’m surprised the building meets access rules for the city. The property is totally unsuitable for anybody with mobility or heart problems.

Could have been excellent, but few things need attention.

No control over heating, lounge and second bedroom very cold. Broken shower and even though reported no reply to message.

A few missing things like no tea towel and some of the previous guests washing up was not good so plates etc needed washing before using Shower was hard to use as the fastener to the rail didn’t work ( was actually broken )

Cosy stay in a central location.

Great central location. The cereal, biscuits and toiletries were a nice touch.

The hallway was a little smelly, but didn’t impact the apartment.

Good facilities, excellent hosts, very central - but with some issues

The flat has almost everything one could want - a well stocked kitchen (the little cereal boxes and biscuits were a very nice touch), comfortable and clean living and dining area, two bedrooms and two showers. It's very central indeed. The hosts were responsive and check in and out was easy. I do make some points below that I think could improve the place but I want to thank the hosts for being very accommodating and helpful.

The main issue was a very unpleasant musty smell in the flat and even more strongly in the stairwell. The hosts came out very quickly when I asked about it. They said the smell in the hallway was a dead bird they couldn't reach, and the smell in the flat was because the drains were dry and it would be solved by running both showers. But that unfortunately didn't take the smell away and I noted others have mentioned it in earlier reviews. The extent of the stairs needs more emphasis. I was aware there were stairs but in fact I had to bump a heavy case up SIXTY steps to reach the flat. I am a small woman in my 60s and this was very difficult. I think the number of steps should be made clearer on booking. To be honest, I probably would not have booked it if I had known how many stairs I would have to climb with a case. One is unable to control the heating - you have to ask for this to be done and it means turning up the heating in the whole flat rather than just one room. The hosts agreed to do it though I didn't notice a difference. It would have been good to have control over the temperature. Finally - a small but important point. There is no mirror in the bathroom, which feels weird. The only mirror is on the wardrobe door. So (for example) flossing my teeth was difficult without a bathroom mirror. Again I note other reviewers have made this point. This would be such a small fix!

A lovely comfortable relaxing stay.

Great central location. Very well furnished and comfortable. My wife was very pleased with the quality of bedding.

Parking could be a little tricky. Fortunately we are ex Sunderland residents and know the situation. All that said the owners did give comprehensive instructions on parking.

Great base to explore the north east

Perfect location for the purpose of my trip. Without the great help of the property manager, this would not have been a great trip due to some admin mix ups. However, they were responsive and extremely helpful, and made it a great success.

Great apartment, great value for money - we will be back!

The property was spotless, massive and in a great location. Instructions were really clear about keys and the stay. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back if we are in the area. There were lovely little touches like snacks and toiletries. The bed was very comfortable too!

A very clean and comfortable apartment in an excellent location for access to the City centre. No parking but there is an affordable multi story parking space very close to the apartment. Communication with the host also very good.

Die Lage ist sehr zentral, aber dennoch ruhig. Es gibt zwei Schlafzimmer je mit eigenem Bad und einen schönen großen Wohnbereich. Es war sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet. Der Kontakt war superfreundlich und Checkin sowie Checkout total unproblematisch und einfach.

Fijne locatie

Fijne sfeer en goede locatie in stad/metro/stadion. Warm welkom met kerstboom en andere items als koekjes/koffie/etc liggen voor je klaar. Echt een fijn appartement in het centrum van sunderland. Eenvoudig via het openbaar vervoer met de metro te bereiken. Heeft 2 badkamers en 2 slaapkamers. Inlog krijg je op de dag zelf rond 13u, zodat je de toegangscode krijgt voor de deur en sleutelkastje. Goede wifi.

Eigenlijk is het heel comfortabel en fijn. Maar om een 10 te geven zou ik graag willen zien dat de bedden breder worden. Er is voldoende ruimte in de kamer, waarom van die smalle 2 persoons bedden? Ik begrijp het echt niet.
