Close to volcano. Local charm.
Right on the main road. Although the traffic noise was finished by 9 pm, then it was very quiet

Nice basic house and very clean. The owners provide everything you need to stay for awhile and other renters had left things like mustard, ketchup etc. It is about 1/2 way between Hilo and Volcanoes National Park and we liked the location.
It's on a noisy highway and there's a speed bump right near the driveway and cars and truck would fly over it making it noisy at night. Better pillows would be nice. There is no heat and we were here in January. Mornings were quite chilly. Just heating the bathroom would help as our towels never dried making it uncomfortable use a towel fore more than one day. These things were minor and it is a very nice place to stay.
