Casa da Nespereira

Great little house in the centre of Portimao. Handy for shops, beach, buses etc

Could do with a handrail outside as quite slippy when wet. Also a cupboard to store food. Suggestions only!

We had a wonderful stay in casa da nespereira! The apartment was very clean and perfectly suited for our family of five (4 adults and 1 child). A huge bonus was the air conditioning in the bedrooms, absolutely amazing after long days at the beach and during the hot summer nights! The location was great too, just a 5-minute drive to Praia da Rocha, or if you enjoy walking, about 20–25 minutes on foot. We did the walk several times and really enjoyed it, with plenty of cafés along the way for a coffee or breakfast stop. It’s also very close to the Portimão docks, which are beautiful and always have something going on. Communication with the host was excellent. They responded quickly and efficiently to any questions or small issues, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, a fantastic place to stay – we would definitely recommend it!

The only thing that could be improved is that there were no locks in the bathroom. Which made it a little inconvenient as we had to make sure everyone was always aware of someone was going to use the bathroom so no one would come in.

The property was well-appointed and had all the necessary things like a kettle, toaster, etc. The air conditioning was a blessing as we were there when it was very hot. Being able to sit outside to eat was also really nice (despite the mosquitos - bring mosquito repellent in the summer) and we made the most of it - lunch and dinner. The bed was comfortable and the shower was super.

The house was lovely but it would have been nice to know before our arrival that there is a small dependance at the back of the property and that someone was living there. As it so happens he was lovely man and we didn't see him at all except when he came back from work. He has a separate entrance so it really made no difference.

Bruna and her partner were there to meet us on the evening of our arrival. They were very helpful when we needed extra bedding and ensured we received it the next day. The apartment was close to all the facilities we needed as we did not hire a car and we walked everywhere, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

The lounge settee/bed settee was a little uncomfortable as we had a number of days when the weather was very poor and we stayed inside the property. We were aware there was a tenant staying in the small flat across the way from the back door. Unfortunately we did not realise that the tenant shared the washing machine facilities. However, we worked our way around the issue with the tenant being more than happy to give us priority. We rarely saw the tenant in the 4 weeks we were there.
