Apartment with great view at Residence Brunner

This is a spacious apartment - perfect for a family of 4. Loved the balconies and being able to cook dinner and eat on the balcony with the gorgeous view. The kitchen was well stocked. Lots of storage space and hangars. Plenty of hot water for showers. It’s a 10 minute walk to the train station. From the station to the apartment it is all uphill and some parts are quite steep. We did many day trips and really liked the quiet atmosphere of Wengen .

✨For the price, it is a bit rundown. Some of the material on the kitchen chairs are peeling. We found a piece of glass on the kitchen floor the day we arrived. There is no washer/dryer. The carpet in the main bedroom has a large yellow spot by the balcony door. The carpet leading from bedroom to en suite bathroom was loose and I tripped over it several times. I told reception about it and the girl told me it was from a dog and they would fix it the next day. All they did was put a thick, large rug over part of the carpet and then we had to move the carpet out of the way to close the door ! Plus that didn’t cover the loose part I was tripping over, just loose threads in the carpet that the dog had scratched up. It was hot at night, even with the balcony doors open; a little fan would have been nice to have in the bedrooms.

Tout l’hôtel sent le renfermer, le vieux. On a bien essayer de ventiler l’appartement, mais l’odeur est imprégnée dans les tapis et le meubles. De plus ça craque de partout; on entend marcher, parler les voisins….les murs et planchers ne sont vraiment pas insonorisés.

Set in a beautiful part of Wengen, with a stunning view of the mountains. You can sit outside on the balcony and watch the skiiers go by. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable, with everything needed in the kitchen to prepare your own meals. We enjoyed everything about the stay.

Be aware that it is quite a strenuous uphill walk from the station if you have heavy luggage. We didn't realize how difficult it would be to push our suitcases up the hill in snowy conditions, along with our two young children, so that was the only drawback.

The staff was very nice and responsive to messages. I asked for extra coffee pods and they brought them quickly. The Wi-Fi went down and Mr. Brunner got it fixed as soon as possible. The view is beautiful. Our unit was a two bedroom, two bath, with kitchen and living room. I thought it was quite spacious.

The facilities could use a renovation instead of patchwork repairs and replacement. The distance from train to hotel is less of an issue than the altitude difference Getting to the hotel from the train station is a hike up hill... with luggage, but taxis are available.
