Koper Apartma

The location of the apartment is rather good: it's on the edge of the historic centre of Koper, in an apartment block built in the 1960s. If you prefer public transport, it's a plus that a stop is right next to the building, served by local buses and routes to nearby towns as well (including Piran an Portorož, amongst others). The city beach is cca. 1 km from here, an easy 15 min walk through the historic centre. A craft beer bar and a Bosnian restaurant is just across the road, a bakery is just behind the building, and supermarkets are also available within 10 min walk. The apartment also has a wide array of tools and appliances, making a stay pretty easy.

We knew that two of the four beds are in the living room - but it wasn't that obvious that the living room is only suitable for sleeping with some compromises. The most important is that out of the three windows, only one has proper shading: another one is not working properly (and also limited because of some plants beneath it), and the third window simply doesn't have shading at all. Another compromise is the bed, which is an opened couch, and not really comfortable (unlike the bed in the proper bedroom which was absolutely fine). AC is available, which was a lifesaver, though it is a bit unusual that it's located in the living room: it means that when sleeping, one room is dark and one room is cool, but it's pretty hard to have both. Open windows might help during the night, but since there are no bug screens on any windows, it brings in mosquitoes as well. Smaller flaws include that the house has relatively poor inner sound insulation therefore noises from other flats can be well heard (though the house itself is relatively quiet as a general rule), and that even though the apartment as a whole was absolutely clean, the bathroom vents could use some cleaning. It's not really a bad thing or a good thing, but definately relevant that the apartment is seriously PACKED with different artifacts and decorative items that can be described the best as 'urban grandmother', and maybe 'kitsch' would also be a suitable description. Those can be seen on the pictures too, but in real life, they absolutely dominate the place.

ich musste bei bocking.com anrufen um an den schlüssel zu kommen. angegebene tel.nr funktionierte nicht. nach intervention eines sehr freundlichen mitarbeiters kam dann endlich eine leicht genervte frau, welche uns endlich in die wohnung lies. sie verlangte die kurtaxe und war wieder weg. kein passwort für das w-lan oder erklärung zu klimaanlage oder fernseher. der rest der wohnung war in ordnung.

The apartment itself was clean, functional, and as expected. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay, nothing exceptional but perfectly adequate.

The check-in experience was extremely poor. After a long drive, no one answered the door, calls, or messages, and we were left waiting outside with a one-year-old child for over two hours. There was no communication or updates during that time, which made the situation very stressful. Additionally, the owner never provided an invoice after I requested it.
