A unique panoramic view over Roskilde Fjord. This cosy and tastefully furnished holiday home spans two floors and features light wooden floors and large windows. There are wooden terraces on both floors, whilst the spacious garden, complete with a fire pit, is perfect for relaxing evenings outdoors. From the house, you can enjoy a unique panoramic view across Roskilde Fjord – with magnificent sunrises and the moon reflecting in the calm waters at night. On a clear day, you can even see the spires of Roskilde Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nature lovers can look forward to an exceptionally diverse range of birdlife. White-tailed eagles regularly circle above the fjord, and numerous migratory birds from the nearby bird sanctuary can also be spotted. The house is situated in a scenic and peaceful holiday home estate with its own marina and a child-friendly beach with a bathing jetty. Just a few minutes’ walk away is the thatched-roof Sønderby Kro inn, with a village pond, a large boules court and a small playground with swings. In the nearby Ostwald, which you can also see from the house, the path ends at Skovbroen, a historic ferry crossing to the island of Eskildsø. There are good fishing opportunities here (fishing licence required). Just 2 km away are the Selsø Slot manor house museum and Lake Selsø, an EU bird sanctuary. Also nearby is the Fjordstien, a popular cycling and walking route stretching a total of 257 km along the Roskilde Fjord and the Isefjord. The region forms part of the Skjoldungernes Land National Park and offers numerous natural and cultural experiences. You can also look forward to trips to Frederikssund, home to the J.F. Willumsen Museum and the famous Viking Games; to Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød; or to Roskilde with its famous cathedral, the Viking Ship Museum, Sagnlandet Lejre and the Ragnarock Rock Museum. Copenhagen, with its many attractions, is also within easy reach. A bus stop with services to Frederikssund and Skibby is just a few minutes’ walk from the house.
