To the south of Den Oever is the Robbenoordwald, where there are several walking routes. You can also visit the town of Den Helder and its beautiful sights, such as Fort Kijkduin and the Willemsoord museum harbour. In Den Helder you can take the ferry to the Wadden island of Texel. You can reach the North Sea coast in around 30 minutes by car.
