Bramwood Cottages

The property offered everything we needed for our stay and was located within walking distance of the local amenities. It was well presented, clean and cosy and ideal the few days we were sightseeing around North Yorkshire.

We didn’t like the parking situation, we found it difficult to manoeuvre in the small car park in order to exit it, often having to reverse onto the busy road because other cars made it difficult to leave in forward gear. Also the seating was uncomfortable in the lounge/dining area of the property, I think less tables in the corner would allow room for a cosy cuddle chair and a small but more comfortable chair could replace the other hard chair. The blinds in the velux windows would be better if they were darker because they let too much light in so we were awake early every morning. The road noise from passing traffic was loud and disturbed our sleep and the sprung mattress on the bed was very uncomfortable and could do with being replaced. Going up and down the stairs to use the toilet in the night was a bit inconvenient.

Nothing much

This was the perfect place to stay if you're looking for somewhere central, with carparking, where you can walk to everything. Much cheaper than staying in York, and just down the road to Whitby, Scarborough or going out to see Abbeys and Castles.
