Civil War Living History Museum is an easy 14-minute walk away, so you can leave your car at the property, which offers onsite parking, or jump in your vehicle to make short work of the 2-minute drive to Bolivar Heights Scenic Overlook.
After you return, you can unwind by the outdoor pool or sip a drink in the garden; you may also like the patio and firepit. As for the great indoors, you can come inside and enjoy the free WiFi and TV.

This is a hard review to write. The outdoor space included with this rental is awesome - gorgeous gardens, refreshing pool, nice tiki bar area. The only downside is that route 340 is VERY close, so there is a lot of highway noise (including loud truck brakes). We nevertheless enjoyed the outdoor amenities.
The apartment is a true basement; if you are over 6 feet tall you may hit your head on a couple of door jambs. And you hear quite a bit of walking noise from above. We were also frustrated that we could not control the air conditioning ourselves: the unit was absolutely frigid most of the time. (We did not complain about that, and I'm guessing the hosts wouldn't adjusted if asked, but we didn't want to annoy them with change requests.)
The apartment is nicely outfitted and the kitchenette is quite nice. The only recommendation we would make is that it would be nice to have reading lamps in the two bedrooms.
Our biggest complaint is that the whole unit smells heavily of cigarette smoke. One or both of the hosts clearly smoke on the property; in fact one night we were woken up at 2 AM when somebody opened and closed a door above us and then we smelled smoke. It was not pleasant.
Again, this is a hard review to write because the hosts were very gracious and kind and responsive when we made one request (the coffee creamer in the mini fridge was bad and they replaced it immediately). And the apartment is a great base of operations to explore the Harper's Ferry region.
