I really enjoyed staying at Carpe Diem, I enjoy the pool and the serenity of the whole villa as if you were on a pocket jungle. I still dreamt about the place till this day.

Great little hotel. Pool was really nice complete with swim up pool bar. Happy hour 4-6 had good drink specials but not much for food specials. Room was nice and clean. Mattress was a bit stiff for me, otherwise comfortable. Hot water worked, just had to be patient and make sure you turned the tap the right way. It is a bit far from the main area for food options and shops but that's what also makes it a nice quiet place.

I booked online and paid in advance for four nights based on the hotel write up with all of its amenities. Upon arrival we were shown the room with an adjoining bathroom. While there was A/C in the bedroom, there was no air-conditioning in the bathroom. The bathroom has a large window with wrought iron and a screen in the upper left corner of the room above the shower for ventilation with the outside air. It is hot, humid, and uncomfortable, and if you open the bedroom door to the bathroom, you lose all of your air-conditioning and everything becomes hot, humid, and sticky. The sink in the bathroom has no faucet fixture and there is a small post which you use like a joystick for the water. This room was not acceptable to my wife and I and we stayed on the property 6 minutes after check-in and requested a refund nicely. We were told that since we had used an online service for the reservation booking that we would have to request a refund through them and the hotel front desk staff assured us that they would provide the refund after having received the confirmation from the app. My wife and I went to another hotel and were able to get online to request the refund from our online booking app. We were told by the online app., that everything that we had told them had been verified as to their deplorable hotel and misleading exaggeration of their conditions, and that the app., would recommend to Carpe Diem to issue us a refund. However; The hotel refused to issue our refund. We contacted the Tourist Police and went there with a senior seargent and an officer to the hotel. After having provided them with all of our documentation they still refused to issue us a refund for the entire 4 day stay even though we never stayed on this property. The hotel has a non-refundable clause that they involk mercilessly to take all of the money from you. This hotel lies online about the quality and conditions of their rooms. Regardless of any refund that they tell you that you will receive, with their non refundable clause, you will not be getting one peaso of it back. Buyer be ware.
