About this house rental
The Backwaters Cottage is conveniently located on Wisconsin's Great River Road National Scenic Byway with views of the beautiful bluffs and the Mississippi River. Within walking distance to the Fountain City public boat landing, bars, restaurants, winery, retail shops and ice cream/coffee shop. There’s also direct access to the Flyway bike trail. The newly renovated Cottage "Farmhouse" (main level) is 1500 sq ft and features a large living room with a couch, two leather chairs and a 55” Smart TV, dining room, 2 private bedrooms with queen size beds, a full bathroom, fully equipped eat-in kitchen with refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee pot, pots, pans and utensils and laundry room with Washer & Dryer.
The town offers pleasant vistas of the Mississippi River from its characteristic terraced gardens. Nearby, 550-foot Eagle Bluff is the highest point on the Upper Mississippi. Seven Hawks Vineyard perches on the hillside outside of town while their Tasting Room is nestled in a historic downtown building. The Prairie Moon Museum & Sculpture Garden, a fanciful folk art attraction, is located just north of Fountain City. Winona, MN is located 10 minutes south of the Cottage.

This place felt like home for these few days. The place is clean, spacious and in a great neighborhood. Ease in checking in and out. If you looking for a place to spend your vacation days with peace of mind, look no further to Backwater Cottage.

This apartment was convenient to the main drag of Fountain City. Quiet and nice.

The rooms were all very clean except the bathroom. When the shower curtain was pulled open there was a cobweb that had to be pulled away before we could step in. There was no hot water when we went to take a shower. I understand a tripped breaker was the reason, but having hot water should have been checked out before we arrived. All of that kept us from enjoying our first night of 3 there. But the rest of the home was clean.
