Podere La Ciabatta

If you are looking for an authentic place to stay in Tuscany, this is a great choice. The accommodation is run by a very kind and welcoming couple. Although they do not speak English, communication was never a problem – they more than make up for it with their friendliness, sense of humor, and hospitality. During our stay, we felt more like we were visiting our grandparents than staying in a commercial accommodation. The views of the surrounding countryside and the sunsets are absolutely beautiful. The room was spacious, clean, well prepared, and sufficiently equipped. We had everything we needed.

The only downside is the access road, which is a bit difficult. However, we were informed about it in advance, so it did not come as a surprise.

Abbiamo trascorso una settimana al Podere La Ciabatta per una vacanza in famiglia con i bambini e non avremmo potuto desiderare posto migliore. La posizione è davvero strategica: perfetta per visitare al mattino borghi meravigliosi e altre attrazioni della Val d’Elsa e poi tornare nel pomeriggio per rilassarsi e rinfrescarsi in piscina. I proprietari sono stati fantastici: accoglienti, gentili, sempre disponibili e molto aperti a darci consigli e suggerimenti per scoprire al meglio la zona. Una menzione speciale va alle colazioni, davvero super e rigorosamente fatte in casa: un modo meraviglioso per iniziare ogni giornata. Le stanze sono accoglienti e confortevoli, ma ciò che ci ha conquistato più di tutto sono stati la vista spettacolare e il bellissimo giardino, che regalano una sensazione di pace e tranquillità difficile da dimenticare. La strada sterrata per raggiungere il podere è stata un po’ impegnativa, ma alla fine anche questo ha fatto parte dell’esperienza: lungo il tragitto abbiamo avuto la fortuna di incontrare diversi caprioli e persino qualche coniglio. Saremmo rimasti ancora a lungo, se avessimo potuto. È stata una vacanza autentica, rilassante e piena di momenti belli, di quelle che restano nel cuore. Grazie di cuore per averci fatto sentire così bene!

We travelled to this accommodation as two separate families. While making our booking (at Booking.com) we also made a specific request to have two apartments sufficient for two families (that was mentioned as a special request during our booking). However, this has not happened and our family got a very small unit which made our stay completely uncomfortable which also resulted in rather mixed feeling about our stay even though the housekeeper Andreas was very nice and the overall place and location were really great. We rather believe that this misunderstanding was caused by Booking.com office not taking into account our specific requirements.
