After I booked the apartment, I was forced to send a selfie to the owner, with the threat of canceling the booking and refusing my check in.... I found this an utter invasion of privacy, as I do not like having my photo taken, and certainly do not share photos with strangers... I felt coersed, and threatened into taking and sharing the photo. This was not disclosed to me before booking, and I would not have booked if I had known in advance. I was treated like a criminal and found it discriminating against older people who are not 'tech-savy'... Also, I was sent a QR code to somehow enter the front gate, but also told to get the key and driveway fob out of the lockbox inside letterbox.... Very confusing... I sent a text message back explaining that I was confused, and was just told that all the info was in the messages. I stupidly trusted that I would figure it out when I arrived.... How bad could it be? No.... I ended up stuck in freezing, cyclonic wind and rain, in a Queenslander dress, out in the street, unable to get access to the property.... I texted the host and she rang me back. She was really angry with me because she felt I was so stupid. I'm over 50 y old, freezing, exhausted, near to tears and in a panic because I couldn't work out how to use a QR code at which gate? I also couldn't find the letterboxes on the street. Also, the unit was very dusty.... The glasses were all stored on an open shelf and the dust was so thick that I had to do a lot of washing before I could even have a glass of water or a cup of tea! I'm on holiday and already doing dishes? Do not stay here if you have allergies or asthma!! Very dusty and musty!
