The Huntress Suite

A lovely welcome card was left for us by the hosts, a bottle of Prosecco and milk in the fridge, very nice. The Huntress Suite was beautiful. The soft furnishings, the decor and the furniture were outstanding. We appreciated the period features. The living room was spacious and comfortable with lovely big settees and the blankets were a nice cosy touch. The bedroom was also spacious and the bed very comfortable. There was plenty of space to hang clothes up in the large wardrobe and other furniture to put belongings away. There were also plenty of coathangers which was a first in our experience. There was a lovely outlook from the big sash windows onto the garden. The facilities were great, with a lovely shower and nice toiletries provided. There was also a washing machine and dishwasher in the property, although we didn’t use them. The kitchen was so well planned and laid out. Also, everything you could want was provided. We enjoyed having coffee from the coffee machine, another nice touch. My husband and I stayed for three nights, it was relaxing and peaceful, which is just what we needed. The location was perfect, set in a quiet, smart area, but only a five minute walk to the Opera House, shops and restaurants. We would advise anyone to make a table reservation at restaurants in advance during a weekend, since we found they were all booked. Also, good location to drive to places of interest. The hosts provided lots of information about places to visit, maps and restaurant recommendations which was really useful. It was also interesting to learn about how the suite had been renovated in a lovely book produced by the hosts. Would recommend a stay at The Huntress Suite for a special break. We will definitely stay again when visiting Buxton.

There was nothing not to like. Just a couple of small points are that the apartment building was hard to find from the road and therefore signage outside the entrance to the driveway would be useful. Secondly, a light outside the apartment would be good.

Great character , superb decor and comfort -beautifully situated and so handy for the town centre too

Short walk to Buxton Opera House. Free parking a bonus

Bathroom rather narrow but shower very good.

Superb location, well equipped, spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished. Plenty of helpful information about where to go and what to do.

Small basin in bathroom. A separate freezer would have been better than a fridge with a small freezer compartment.
