The location is great to see the main Majapahit sites within Trowulan. But the highlight for me was my host Pak Eko taking me to visit the more remote Candi Rimbi, Candi Surawana and Candi Tegowangi, all of which have great base reliefs. The round trip from Trowulan was about 5 hours.

A wonderful, small oasis of a Homestay in the countryside side run by an equally wonderful host family. They make you feel like part of the family, you eat breakfast and dinner together (delicious local food), learn about history and local traditions, and catch-up on world events. !
