A nice environment with friendly and helpful staff.

Nice, comfortable, modern rooms and bathrooms, in a nice environment. The area is quiet, so it was relaxing and the amenities good. At walking proximity to the historic town centre.

I was looking forward to a nice breakfast, but unfortunately it wasn't available because of the time of year. In November, there seems to be only one other choice for breaky nearby. Otherwise, a walk up to the historic city centre.

Relaxing stay in Castiglione del Lago

Lovely spot near the lake, within walking distance to the historic town centre. Stefano was a wonderful host. Breakfast selection was good and buffet was restocked frequently so food was fresh. After a hectic 10 day tour of Italy, we really enjoyed the relaxed pace here.

Exceptional

Set in pretty gardens, from the moment we arrived at Le Macerine, we felt so welcome. We normally camp nearby, but as our usual campsite is closed for renovation and we were only away for a week Le Macerine provided the perfect alternative for us to see friends, with its lovely pool and sun terrace, both of which we quite often had to ourselves, and close proximity to Lake Trasimeno and the beautiful Umbrian town of Castiglione del Lago, full of artisan shops selling local produce and tempting restaurants with amazing food and panoramic views of the Lake . The air-conditioned bungalow provided the perfect respite after a day in the sun and temperatures well into the 30s, the bed was really comfortable, bedding was changed halfway through our stay, and clean towels provided every day. Then there were the breakfasts ... Wow! Croissants, pastries, delicious homemade cakes, cereals, cheese, yoghurts, juice and any coffee you wanted, served by the super friendly staff on the terrace. I can honestly say I went to bed every night looking forward to this!

We loved this place. We felt at home straightaway and there's a really nice, relaxed vibe to the place. The room was comfortable , the breakfast was good, the staff were friendly and helpful and the pool was fantastic. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in this town on a hot day in the summer as the lake isn''t ideal for swimming.

I agree that the garden areas look a bit neglected but there is a water shortage at the moment so that's understandable. It's true that there are insects and a wasp or two at breakfast, but this is true of everywhere in town in the summer. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Peaceful place near the lake

The hotel was in a very quiet neighbourhood, but very close to the lake and 10 minutes walk from city center. The room was very spacious and it had a big bed. The room and the bathroom were clean. The bathroom was very complete and comfortable. There was a fridge available. The rooms are actually cabins with the door going outside directly, which is very good for COVID. Breakfast was typical Italian with salty and sweet food that you could select yourself. There were some homemade tasty cakes. The staff was incredible friendly; they recommended us good restaurants around and they helped us contact us the bikes rent place after we could not deliver the bikes on time. The parking is wide and it was enough. The hotel had pool and an area to stay and relax.

That there were motorbikes parked in front of the cabins instead of the parking.

The staff is very friendly, the lake reachable on foot just as the old village on the hill and the train station. The pool in the well kept garden is the little extra if you just want to stay in your room (if it even had a kitchen you would have to call it "apartment" because of its size). Breakfast with savoury and sweet on the terrace also a very nice moment. Been there thrice

Great stay at Le Macerine

Location to the lake was very close and in walking distance to a "beach". Breakfast was very good with a variety of items available and our rooms were spacious close to the swimming pool which we used every day. Swimming pool was clean and loungers and umbrellas available at all times. We had 2 rooms (5 adults), air conditioning was working well and the beds were comfortable, even the sofa bed was good. Friendly owners and staff, always available to assist and very accommodating with check-out times and information of the area. Free parking in a shaded area for our car. Wifi connectivity was also good.

Nice property near Lake Trasimeno

The room was pretty large and comfortable. I especially loved the bathroom, which was large and nicely decorated. The breakfast was good and substantial, offered on the terrace next to the swimming pool. As a default they offered sweet items (cornetto and differnt kinds of cake), but for request we got savory items (cheese/salumi/ham/eggs) as well. The staff was very nice. It was my birthday when we arrived, so they offered a glass of Prosecco to us. The property is pretty close to the port and also within a walking distance to the old city center. We used it as a base to explore the surrounding area: it is optimal for that purpose. It has a lot of free parking lots.

We booked a double room with the following description: "It comes with a TV, views of the lake and of the surrounding garden, and an en suite bathroom. It has 2 entrances, one of which offers direct access to the garden." This description is not applicable for all the double rooms, e.g. we've got a room with one entrance and no view of the lake. For us it was not a problem, since the room was still OK (large and comfortable) and we did not spend too much time at the property, so did not mind the lack of lake view. But if these details are important for you, it is worth to clarify in advance with the staff. Also it would be worth to change the description of the rooms: instead of the general one I cited above, specific ones should have been used for the different types.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, der Hotelmanager war sehr zuvorkommend ( dabei aber unaufdringlich), hat uns mit Tipps sehr gut weitergeholfen, ein sehr gutes und abwechslungsreiches Frühstück serviert und so für einen entspannten Aufenthalt gesorgt. Die Zimmer ( Häuser) sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet, überdurchschnittlich groß und verfügen über eine Terrasse. Die Lage nah am See und nicht weit weg von der Altstadt ( mit dem Rad in 4 Minuten zu erreichen) ist ausgezeichnet.
