The Benton Lounge Historic Retreat

The location was easy to find and within walking distance of several fun restaurants and pubs; the host was very friendly and responsive; loved the covered car port; the big screen TV in the living room was much appreciated; the room air conditioner going up to the 2nd floor really helped on a very warm spring day. If a few minor things were properly fixed, I'd give it a 10. If we ever get to St Louis again, I'd stay here.

Just a couple minor maintenance things to fix - the master bathroom shower diverter valve probably needs to be replaced as the shower flow is not full (water still runs out of the tub spout); the ceiling fans could not be controlled - the living room one did not turn on at all (either with a wall switch? or a lost remote?) and the pull cord was too high to reach, and the 2nd bedroom upstairs remote didn't work so the fan could only be run on full blast; the shades in the 2nd bedroom closet would not come down (luckily there's a closet door); the listed air mattress was never located; and a PIN is needed to change the Nest thermostat from heat to cool (just an inconvenience).

We loved the space the property provided for our family of three adults. Great pillows! Any questions we had were answered quickly by the host. The location was convenient. If we ever make it back to St Louis, I would not hesitate to book the house again.
