About this house rental
Enjoy your stay in this beautiful Mexican home with high ceilings and central courtyard. The house is equipped with all of the modern comforts such as air conditioning, internet, Smart Tv and new bedding, but retains it's old-world charm with original beams, tiled roof and vibrant colors.
You can enjoy the courtyard day or night. It is the perfect space to sit and read, get some sun, grill some dinner, and enjoy the evening! The house is also in walking distance to all that Centro has to offer.
The house is located along a residential road in the Historic Centre of Mazatlan. Upon entering the house, there is a large living room with high ceilings. There are windows which can be opened to let the fresh-air in, or you can also use the A/C which is available throughout the house.
Passed the living room is a large bathroom with beautiful tiled shower. Then comes acces to the the second bedroom. At the end of the hallway, it opens up into the large kitchen and dining area, with windows looking out into the private courtyard. The kitchen is fully stocked with the necessities, and the dining table seats 6 people.
Off of the kitchen and dining area is a nice TV room, which also has a sleeper sofa for 2 people. The TV is mounted on a swivel, so that you can see it from the TV room, the kitchen/dining area, or from the second bedroom. There are large, solid wood, sliding barn doors which open from the TV room to the second bedroom, so there are 2 access points to this space.
There are 2 large doors leading out to the back patio from the kitchen space. Outside, there is seating in a shaded area, as well as in the sun. There is a large dining table for 6 people outside, and a gas BBQ for your use. Outside is also where you will find the stacked, full-size, washer and dryer.
There are tropical plants in the courtyard, kept by our gardener, Ruben. He goes 2 to 3 times per week, depending on the season, to water and clean the garden. There is also a cleaning person who comes every 2 weeks to clean the property. You will see her if your stay is 2-weeks or longer :) otherwise, the property will be cleaned before your arrival, and after your check-out. Additional cleanings are available upon request, and can be paid in cash.
Just passed the private courtyard is the "casita" as we like to call it. It is a private master bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom has a king-size bed and closet, and looks-out onto the patio. The master bath is spacious, and has a large tiled shower.
Fast Internet is available throughout the house. Perfect for streaming shows or movies, or for tackling a bit of work while you enjoy life in Mexico!
The house is just one block from a small grocery store called Ley. There you can get all of the essentials. It is also very close to the market, Pino Suarez. This is a great place to get fresh fruit and veggies, fish, meat for the BBQ, bacon, etc. It is about a 15 minute walk to the beach at Olas Altas, and 5 - 15 minutes to some of the city's best restaurants.

What a nice place. Surprised that I was able to find a place like this in El Centro. lIt is very spacious. The patio is beautiful. Separating the master bedroom is a nice touch. TV has everything. Kitchen has everything. Comfy couch, comfy beds. There is absolutely nothing bad I can say about this place. AC units in multiple areas. Well equipped. Might book it again if it's available. Had a very pleasant stay

We had a fantastic time at Casa Toscana from mid-January to mid-April. Everything about the house was great. Great location, great set-up with full kitchen, beautiful courtyard and bedrooms. The property managers Eunice & Adriana were ultra responsive to every request we had for assistance or questions to help make our stay more enjoyable. We would love to be able to return next year and hope that it will work out for us. Casa Toscana was a wonderful home away from home.

When deciding to move to Mazatlan, our biggest concern was finding a place to live. We had read horror stories in FB groups by people who had rented from individuals (instead of a property management company). Then we discovered OCCAN and its positive reviews. We stayed at the Casa Toscana for 5 months (and reluctantly left it because it was already booked for early 2024). The casa is awesome--beautifully restored with a great planted patio.
We felt well taken care of by OCCAN. Rachel and her staff were super responsive the few times we needed help. For example, we had a breaker trip, the electricity went out, and we could not find the breaker box. OCCAN sent an electrician out right away to take care of it! If you want peace of mind, OCCAN can't be beat. Once our time ended at the Casa Toscana, we rented another OCCAN property in Cerritos. Repeat clients, for sure.
