John’s Place offers the perfect no-frills retreat for up to 10 guests looking for simplicity and relaxation in the great outdoors. When you arrive at John’s Place you will walk into an open great room with plenty of light and cabin warmth. You’ll find a spacious living area with plush leather seating that surrounds the gas fireplace and large flat-screen TV. You can enjoy warming up by the fire when there is a chill in the air as you watch the big game and play checkers or a hand of poker at the game table. You’ll have plenty of space to cook up a hearty meal in the kitchen while offering your guests a spread of appetizers at the breakfast bar. There are truly no worries as you cook with modern stainless appliances and all the necessary utensils to make cooking and cleanup a breeze. Serve up your delicious dishes on the custom-built craftsman dining table that comfortably seats 6 adults. Even Fido will enjoy your culinary skills as he admires the feast from his dog bed. During warmer months, head out onto the large deck that surrounds half the home to cook out on the grill. You’ll also enjoy warming up outside in the cooler months by cozying up to the wooden fireplace under the covered deck. Outside, you can enjoy the serenity of the surrounding forest of mature trees as you sip your coffee on the deck before heading out for a day of fun. The house was exactly as described in the listing. Super clean, bed sheets and towels provided, which is really convenient. We had a great visit and would rent this house again for sure!

House is newly built and still a work in progress. Basement isn’t finished, no landscaping yet, no hot tub. But it worked for us. The house is comfortable, well furnished and with a nice layout (2 bedrooms kn main level and 2 up including a “kids” room with 3 beds). Neighborhood is quiet, arranged around a golf course. It’s further from the lake than we prefer but it worked. We made plans late in the season and appreciated the chance to stay for just an extended weekend. Kids would have enjoyed a ping pong table in the unfinished basement for our rainy afternoon.
