The place was old and wasn’t in the best shape, but it was clean, the host was very nice and it was fine for the price. The bed was comfy, and it served its purpose

I booked this place based on the price and the decent photos. For the price it was pretty good. The bed was comfortable, the place was clean, and the owner was extremely nice and helpful. No regrets booking it.
That said, a couple of notes that make it clear why it was a lower price:
1. It’s a basement apartment with low ceilings. At 6’7” I could not stand up straight in the kitchen. If you’re over 6’3”, you should be aware.
2. When it rains, the entryway has a puddle just outside the door. There was about an inch of water waiting to soak your feet.
3. The gate in back was in disrepair, making opening it a little bit tricky.
That all said, I still recommend this as a good value. To add to it, the owner found my new ear buds that dropped from my bag and is making sure I get them back. I will likely use this place again when visiting the Twin Cities.

The accommodations themselves were just fine. They were comfortable, quiet, and as expected. However, there were two major problems, both of which could, and should be resolved:
1) The apartment for rent is 1/2 of a duplex, and while the space is not shared with the host/owner, there are no interior locks that would prevent the host/honor from coming into the rented apartment at any time. There are two doors, and while, one of them locks from the inside, the host's key can open.it from the outside And the other door can’t even be locked from the inside. At least at a hotel, there’s a deadbolt and safety lock on the inside which gives the renter peace of mind and safety. deadbolts should be installed on the inside of both doors.
2) The guest contact – the person I was directed to contact with any questions or issues – was almost impossible to get a hold of. I texted several times, called, emailed, and I finally got a response after several days and after complaining to Evolve.
