I booked this place because its location during a work trip. Most clients will be looking for a quiet get away in the country.
From the beginning, Sarah and Peter and their two dogs made me feel very welcome in this well appointed apartment below their home.
The large bed is very comfortable, with high quality linens and is directly attached to the living area which has a large comfortable couch and ottoman facing the television.
I would have preferred to have brighter lighting in this area of the apartment.
The bathroom is modern and well appointed with top quality towels. Although small, the modern kitchen space makes maximum use of the space. It has a full-size refrigerator/freezer, is well equiped and has a hot plate for light cooking. Very practically, a modern laundry room is adjacent to the kitchen.
Parking is directly in front of the door, as is a seating area and grill.
The peace and quiet of the Kansas hill country, full of birds, wildlife, and star-filled skies at night, make this a special place.
Sarah and Peter raise a small number of alpacas, but these are quiet unabtrusive animals living in their own pasture a stone's throw from the house. They live a quiet life and encourage you to do the same.
On weekends, the nearby Nighthawk winery offers wine, food, and music in their beautiful garden, complete with terrific pizzas fresh out of an italien woodfire oven.
Both Price Choppers and Walmart can be found in Paola, a short drive.
Civilization only means driving back up to Overland Park.
Although I had concerns that I would feel isolated, I found myself quickly enjoying being away from a city environment. Sarah and Peter are now my friends, and I look forward to staying with them again.
