8.0 / 10.0Excellent·Sep 2025
Generally fine, well stocked kitchen, loved having a dishwasher. House had a funky smell that didn't go away. Yard was untidy, and porch and doorways were not very clean. I expected more for the money I paid. Area was beautiful. Lake was very low (no one's fault), but it meant we couldn't use any of the boats or access the water, which was disappointing.

The house was comfy and a perfect place to stay for our trip to visiting family in Vermont. We enjoyed the lake and the kayaks that were provided. We would recomend this to anyone wanting a quiet place to stay and relaxe.

This spot was exactly what we needed . Beautiful views and plenty of yard. The water is nice for viewing and boating but unless you’re out on boat fishing is hard and swimming is not available. Had a charcoal grill for use and plenty of utensils and nice kitchen. Kayaks in the shed was great touch. House was clean and had towels and shower amenities. Overall we give it an A . Anything you need including beaches dollar general and other markets all within 30 mins. I am from small town so we are used to the small commutes for goods and fun. Will be back for longer next visit thank you

Our stay was lovely. We had excellent communication with John prior to our arrival and check in was easy. We were surprised that the master bedroom was kind of separate from the other two so the extra privacy was nice. The books and board games available for use were a really nice touch and we left an extra to add to the collection upon our departure. The kitchen cabinets were incredibly well stocked with dishes. The view of the lake was incredible and if you're lucky you'll even catch a duck family going in and out for the day. Those are all the wonderful positives and we would absolutely stay here again. Here are some of the things we wish someone had shared in a review so we would have been prepared for but not by any means a deal breaker. It's out in the middle of no where, and when people say that they mean it really is 12 minutes to the nearest gas station (this gas station is incredibly well stocked but stop on your way in don't think you can just bop back out to get something) it is so nice to have this privacy and peace and quiet.
Another positive, it really is very quiet, we didn't hear the road or the neighbors the whole time we were there.
Because it is out in the middle of no where small critters are par for the course. There is evidence that the host does a lot to mitigate those friends from making themselves at home inside. We did not see any critters inside while there just the bait/repellant/plug ins/etc.
The floor is a bit drafty (again we went to VT in the winter, it's cold there, but just to be prepared) the thermostat self adjusts to lower the temp and it got pretty chilly (some nights the thermostat dropped to 63) and we had to change it in the middle of the night. The hot water in the shower also doesn't get very hot, so if you like hot showers please be prepared you will not have one here (literally my son's and my husband's only complaint of the whole stay).
Overall this really is lovely. The host was incredible and responsive. This was our first VRBO experience and it was a very positive one.
We hope you enjoy your stay here as much as we did!
