We loved Lake MI and enjoyed it tremendously! The cottage is cute and efficient! It would be nice if there were a few water conveniences like beach chairs and water toys for lids. No personal care items like shower wash or shampoo. No problem but just bring your own. Overall, we had a fantastic trip and would definitely come again!

We had such a great time visiting this cottage. It is adorable and a very good example of maximizing a small space. We had a lot of bags and there was plenty of room for everything. It's obvious a lot of the old reviews are not valid anymore. The shower was super hot and had great water pressure. The beds were comfortable. We did bring a few of our own towels for the beach and one extra for the bathroom because I like to use a lot of towels. There was plenty of tp. The beach was stunning, and the chairs and bench made it easy to enjoy the view for hours. There is nothing better than your own slice of Lake Michigan! When I booked this rental my only real concern was the other rental on the property, but it is so far away we could not hear the people and only saw them briefly. The cottage is very private and quiet. I loved being in the trees. It reminded me of Michigan Summer vacations when I was young with my family. I know we will come back!

Have stayed here under previous owners since for nearly 30 years. It is a blessing to be able to share it with my children. The location is perfect, the cabin is cozy and clean and the cost is fair.

While we expected this home to be small and less luxurious than the adjacent home on the property, we were disappointed that the listing and pictures did not accurately reflect what was presented. We certainly enjoyed our vacation regardless, but we may have chosen a different spot with better information. Our review is meant to provide that information to future travelers; we’ll happily re-rate “Evergreen†if/when the pictures and listing are updated.
1. The pictures show a daybed. The write up says that this can be used as an additional sleeping accommodation. The daybed is not there. It was replaced with two outdoor corner chairs that are pushed together to form a loveseat. We ended up purchasing a blow up mattress so, when needed, we could sleep on the floor next to our toddler who slept on the loveseat. The loveseat wasn’t a suitable option for an adult sleeper. Four pillows were provided in the cottage (enough only for the beds).Â
2. The pictures truly seem to “scale up†certain aspects of the cottage. While the listing does not indicate that there is a bath tub, the members of our party agreed that the picture makes the existing small shower look much more like a bath tub. Similarly, the pictures make the kitchen area look much larger. The range is in fact a compact 20†model. There is an approximately 18â€x18†counter for food prep.
3. The beach IS beautiful but the house does not have a view of it. There is a pretty deck overlook area that is accessible by walking through a clearing and up some steps. The clearing is overgrown. Long pants would be advisable for kids so their legs aren’t scratched by briers.
